The good news is that my insurers will let me use a Land Rover approved body-shop repair facility. My wife - (she was at the wheel so I currently occupy the moral high-ground) - is now the 3rd person to have struck this bollard, apparently. Surround cameras are unlikely to have helped as she was exiting a car-park onto a main road and would have been watching the traffic (probably).

I'll post 'after' pics in due course.

It's done now! If it can be repaired to a high standard then the stress of the first knock is over and done with and you can relax in ownership!

Good luck with the repairs.

Ouch, at least you have that over the wife now Smile However I am sure you being male, you will use that up pretty quickly.

Don't worry, at least no one was injured, well probably except your wife when she gave you the good news.
Find a dealer with a good paint shop and make sure you take outside and view in daylight before accepting the repairs.
Good luck!

RE: And there I was worrying about kerbing the alloys...

After tooling around in a Peugeot 207 courtesy car for nearly two weeks - the horror - I am collecting my Evoque from the repair shop tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see how good a job they've done as an official Land Rover Repair Centre and also to see how much it has all cost. Anyone any suggestions for particular things to look out for? I've got 'check the doors shut properly' and 'make sure you look at the paint in daylight'; anything else?

Today, by coincidence, a council sub-contractor was upgrading the bollards, including the one that did all the damage, to taller, more visible versions. The original ones were not the correct 'spec' apparently.

Will post some 'after' pics tomorrow.

Take a bright torch with you, not a LED one. This will show up any marks in the paint that normal day light could miss.
Silly thing, but check that the repaired panel matches the old ones. Had friends with repaired panels only to find the colour match was bad
