Shocked

Keep that, sell the Evoque, the house, and, if necessary, the wife! Laughing

Too late. Amg gone. Wife loves the evoque so no debate there.

Hmm, selling the wife... could have some mileage in that idea ...

Hi Nick, I need to get access to the DAB radio module mounted in the spoiler, as think my Antenna has come adrift, could you give any guidance on removing the spoiler?

Hi Phil, removal of the spoiler is really easy. 5 bolts, 10mm or 13mm I think. They will be under rubber cones. Two either side and one in the middle. The bit I'm not sure of yet is how easy access is to get to the wires to unplug it as I've only removed the spoiler from the new boot lid ( wires already unplugged) and not took the one of the car yet.

Thanks Nick that's appreciated I remember those cones, as found one in my boot once, My DAB has been fantastic for years, and recently noticed it's just dropping out everywhere, still picks up stations so must be working, just very poor signal strength.

RE: 2016 facelift conversion.

My lights arrived. Had them sent to me as for £15 saved the grief of picking them up, and a couple hour trip.

Has a rather heavy duty box now attached.

Not sure at the mo however as plugged one in and the led lite up on the bright setting but when it should go dim ( led has 2 brightnesses) it just went off. Need to check with seller why this would be before I strip bumper off etc. He did say some pins need changing but I wouldn't have thought the pin changes would make a difference to the led strip working. Will try to check the other side tomorrow.

Will go back to seller as see what he says. Hopefully it's not an issue.

RE: 2016 facelift conversion.

So, spoke to the chap and a pin swop is required to be fully functional. When we did experiment we identified 3 pin swops and it is indeed these 3 pin swops that should sort the dlr to be fully functional. Buying a new house at the mo, so trying to get time to sort this but should be next couple of weeks.

Couple of teaser pics in the meantime.

RE: 2016 facelift conversion.

So, got a day clear to fit the lights and rear spoiler. Been a long haul since I had the idea of a facelift conversion but finally think I'm there. Sorry about picture sizes. Since PB went silly been using post image and can't work out sizing yet!

So first job was fitting the newly converted black pack headlights. These have the dark grey strip inside as apose to the non black pack that have a silver edge. Fairly rare lights. To take the lights out need to semi remove the bumper so started to strip off grill, lower valance and then loosen up a few bolts enough to get headlights out.

Plugged in to test

It's alive!!!

3 wires need re pinning so fairly simple . All fully functional including dimming when headlights on or indicators.

Whilst the car was up in the air I decided that the disc shields needed freshening up and decided to paint the calipers red.

Rear spoiler was a bit tricky but easy enough once worked out where wires were and was all plug and play! All functioning correctly.

Happy with the twin fin look and the brake light looks a lot more modern being thinner and led.

Outside the new house which hopefully will be in 3-4 weeks and meant the sale of the a45 Amg

thinking about putting my Oem badges back on. These were just temporarily placed but thought it broke up the black a bit! Don't think I can use the sd4 badge though as pre facelift badge only ( I think) and couldn't give the secret away that easily!

RE: 2016 facelift conversion.

Looking Good, NickJ!

Twin Fin Spoiler is definitely the game changer, i always catch myself out admiring the slimline LED Light on it...

Regarding Badges, on mine, i removed the SD4 Badge and replaced it with the 'HSE' Badge from the MY17...

I'm still waiting for this chap at RD Custom in Italy to return my Full LED Headlights... I'll wait on ranting until i have them back in my hands, but needless to say I am not a happy bunny right now....
