RE: 1st Service price differences, yikes!!!

I believe alternating years are more expensive looking at the service form, but assuming £287 + £380 + £287 will give £954 for 3 years. And £1314 for 4 years.

Thanks for the recommendation Richard, did you get sorted with the dealer over the clutch pedal switch?

U could still get a service at an equivalent place and then go back to a dealer who will run a full diagnostic as standard (if issues are identified in the non-franchised service, which come FOC as part of the 3 year warranty) Therefore cheap service plus dealership assessment at a later date (without the cost!)

It is worth noting that Green Oval is not an authorised Land Rover Dealer, but an indepandent.
I have nothing against good independents and would use one myself after my warranty runs out. While the car is under warranty I think that if I used an independent for serviceng I would suffer financially at resale time due to not having main dealer stamps in my service book, no matter how good the independent was.
I would love it to be different and independents give much better value than main dealers but I cant take the risk, so it looks like circa £350 for my first service

Mines due its service very soon. I've got a service plan, haven't worked it out. Will be using my local dealer Stratstone Cupar, I've always received excellent service from them both sales and after sales.

Lookers Colchester £423.76 +£18 for a loan LR2. I didn't ask for a discount as I have there service plan. Has anyone else been offered the engine oil flush treatment for £30.00 extra (£5.00 in Halfords) Shocked

But it's not as bad as when a TT i owned had it's 1st service. After speaking to the service department, asking them the service cost & arranging for the car to be picked up. I was shocked to be asked at the end of the call DO I WANT THE OIL CHANGED! That's an extra on the service price sir was her answer.

The flush is a laugh

Modern engine oils have the right detergents and dispersants to keep the engine clean and ensure that when the oil is drained the deposits go with it, leaving the engine nice and clean ready to go again with new oil and filter.

Engine flush won't do any harm though it just not needed with a car that has regular maintenance

Save your money, for that money you should not be paid for a loaner, I find that really annoying.

One of the happy owners, ordered June 2011, delivered Wednesday 8th February 2012, now 97000 miles. Scorpions lasted 78'000 miles.

That is a p take of huge proportions considering lookers park royal in London quote 394 before you've asked for a discount!!! These dealers need to get there act together!!!
