Another problem is that car makers are moving over to internet connected ICE systems that are totally useless if you live north of Manchester and where there isn't mobile internet - for instance where I live between Glasgow and Edinburgh we don't even get a decent mobile phone signal let alone GPRS or 3G................. It isn't just Evoque where the standard audio has been downgraded, RRS2 has also had a downgrade as well I don't believe it is penny pinching, it is maximising profit and LR are becoming experts in the field of ripping off customers I'm sorry to say.

As far as i can tell, the standard system uses standard non branded speakers and no amp.

The meridian 380 uses the same speakers as the 800 but just has a different amp. The 800 also has a couple of extra speakers so guess this makes up the wattage difference. But the woofers, sub, mid range and tweeters are all the same part numbers for both premium systems.

same experience as me, 40 mpg just same as my old ed4 and crap sound. I went from a pure to an se tech didn't even think about the sounds as I thought it would be better if anything. how wrong I was if I had known I would have paid to upgrade

"the same speakers as the 800 but just has a different amp"

So if I just change the amp, my woman will perhaps start to wiggle in her seatLaughing

One would assume. You'd need the loom and extra speakers. Plus the head unit would need to be configured to use the surround sound.

The speakers are dual cone rather than single cone in teh 820W, plus there are a couple extra, and the Sub is bigger, so it's more than an Amp change.

You probably be better fitting a better Sub rather than trying to upgrade the whole system, especially if you want things to Wiggle! Wink

The parts on microcat show the same part numbers for both systems.

Well, in that case it looks like I have make her wiggle myselfCool

Looking more closely at the Specs the Dual Cone speakers are the 3 Extra speakers in the Dash and rear parcel shelf supports. Hence 380W = 11 Speakers and 820W = 17 speakers.

So the inbuilt speakers are the same in both systems.

You will still need the extra 3 speakers and the Amp and the head unit as the 820W supports surround sound the 380W doesn't...

Indeed, as per my pre post. Cool
