JLR to expand the Wolverhampton Engine Factory - XFullFatTim - 24-11-2015 11:35am

Ingenium engines must be selling well in the XE/XF/Evoque and DiscoSport as JLR is to double the size of the Wolverhampton engine factory http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-34906608
Ingenium Engines are also rumoured to be going into Disco 5 and RRS too.......... hopefully they will be bigger than the 2.0lt engines as they might struggle to haul the bulk of those two cars around.

Good news for UK, since all cars need to meet the new CAT6 standards they need to deploy the technology, and JLR want to free themselves from Customer engines it seems, so makes sense these will be across the whole range soon. I assume they will be making a larger variant for the bigger cars.

I've yet to drive one to know if/how much better they are.

I thought the ingenium engine has been designed to be modular so adding cylinders added 500cc meaning a 6 cylinder 3ltr engine is in the pipeline using the same components.

Yes you are right there MighTTY they can go 3 cyl 1500cc and 5 or 6 cyl too, I was just at a conference among other things included the "Evoque_E" project, a Mild Hybrid with braking energy recovery, also discussed a fully Electric project but they stressed they are not making an Electric Evoque, it's more a research project.
