Finally some picture of my beast! - BFGEvoqueMan - 10-10-2013 09:23am

Having been otherwise busy for the last few months, but now with some time on my hands, I realised I have not yet posted any pictures of my new (well now 7 months old) car.

Spec:

SD4 Dynamic
Plus Pack
20" Chrome Shadow
Contrast roof
Aeroflip (should be standard!)
Adaptive Xenons and high beam assist
Keyless entry
Privacy Glass
825W stereo
Auto dipping interior mirror (should be standard!)

Mods:

Debadged front and back (about to change to black letters at the rear)
Remorci Umbra detachable towbar (see dotted line on photo for tiny 5 x 75mm invisible cut)
Windscreen wiper mod (see previous posts)
TV in motion
235ps upgrade
Climair front window deflectors
Mudflaps
Full GTechniq protection

Fuel economy now on the up as it has gone past 10,000 km. Went Bavaria at the weekend at 130kph on the cruise (85mph) all the way and got 7.2l/100km (just over 38 mpg). Love the seats, but if I am being honest they are not quite as comfy as those that were in my Pure, but still no back ache, so a nothing to complain about. High Beam assist might seem extravagant, but IMHO it's something that is really good in practice (unlike the OTT auto wipers aaghhh!). Not missing the pano roof in the slightest as I never got any benefit from the front seats.

I haven't ticked the tow bar box this time - while the supplying dealership for my car did a good job, they followed LR's instructions to the letter which leaves a huge hole in the rear valance - pity that LR didn't make it a similar hidden cover in the bumper for when you don't use the hook like the Evoque's bigger sisters all have. Just hope I don't regret not being able to use the Evoque to tow (I have the Defender that can do that BUT it isn't as secure or comfortable as the Evoque for towing over any distance)

Tim,

The RU bar is rated the same as the Thule bar at 1800kg/150kg and is completely hidden so if you did go for it would recommend this if you wanted to preserve your rear end (so to speak Embarrassed Embarrassed )

BFG

i can manage without anything that can be stuck into my back end so to speak for a while - hopefully the trailer won't need to come out until next summer now as we have had the first frost of the year here and now Loch Lomond will be too cold (it only ever gets to 12c) for any windsurfing even with a 5mm titanium lined wetsuit on!

Let's draw stumps there before the moderator finds himself, well moderated!!

Thanks for your lovely comments.

Think this was a launch spec in Germany. We only got it as I took my wife to the dealers to see what the black roof lining looked like when she saw a 3 door in this combo in the showroom; out went the pano roof and in went the plus pack.....expensive trip!!!

I am very lucky to have three Landrover dealers with 30km of my house so we do see quite a few LR products where I live, but when we travel to Bavaria we are lucky to see one in total on the whole journey there and back and people do stop and stare. Still we all know you doubt buy an Evoque if you don't want people to look at you.LaughingLaughing
