RE: Top Up Oil - deadliner - 19-07-2012 01:23pm I was checking what oil my dealer sold me. And it is Castrol Edge Profesional A5 5W-30. I was checking it and it is A1/B1/A5/B5 compliant. (C1 is not mentioned anywhere). I looked what those codes meant. And C1 simply means it is DPF friendly. I also looked up that Ford is recommending Castrol Edge Profesional A5 5W-30 for its engines with DPF. So I tend to believe it is good oil for Evoque and it does not have to be strictly C1. Am I wrong? RE: Top Up Oil - Big G - 31-07-2012 02:17pm (19-07-2012 01:23pm)deadliner Wrote: I was checking what oil my dealer sold me. And it is Castrol Edge Profesional A5 5W-30. My dealer uses and sells the Castrol Edge Professional C1 5W-30 which I believe is one of the recommended top up oils for Evoque diesel engines specifically with DPF. Over£12 per litre RE: Top Up Oil - cjfp - 22-08-2012 05:41am Well, thats more than you can buy it for, but certainly less than mine wants from me! RE: Top Up Oil - Evo-king - 26-08-2012 11:42am Oh dear now I'm confused. Checked oil as I do each week, the weird dipstick doesn't help, because when you take it out and clean it, reinsert it and remove it again the whole dipstick is coated in oil, so I always take the initial removal reading. Anyhow, it shows 3/4 full on the stick. I don't know how much to put in. Also my Castrol Edge Fully Synthetic says ACEA C2, C3. Beginning to thing this might be no DPF friendly, any suggestions? RE: Top Up Oil - XFullFatTim - 26-08-2012 11:57am According to the online owner's manual........................ for the Diesel - from just above minimum to the Max level is 0.5ltr/ 1 pint, if just below max don't top up, if below the minimum mark add 1.5ltrs of oil - the numbers for a petrol engine are slightly different |
