It is quality gear & it meets the spec no problem, http://www.carlube.co.uk/index.cfm?product=179&product_title=5w30%20Carlube%20Triple%20R%20Fully%20Synthetic%20C3 Castrol edge is way over priced at £17 a litre unless you go to Asda £27 for 4 ltrs But i also trust castrol as i have never had any issues with it RE: Top Up Oil - PhilSkill - 10-05-2012 11:14pm http://www.carlube.co.uk/index.cfm?produ...title=5w30 Carlube Triple R Fully Synthetic C1 Slightly closer to spec, C1-C3 all look like low saps though. RE: Top Up Oil - ChuckieB - 09-06-2012 01:40pm Bought my second litre of top up today. 5,500 miles gone and hopefully the rate of consumption has settled down! Still cost me £14.82, yet this time I got a castrol pouch to store it in. Found it difficult to contain my excitement RE: Top Up Oil - THEMACS - 17-07-2012 10:11pm (09-06-2012 01:40pm)ChuckieB Wrote: Bought my second litre of top up today. 5,500 miles gone and hopefully the rate of consumption has settled down! My dealer charges nearly £20 but comes in a zip bag with a fold up funnel, gloves and wipes. Made me forget price, it was so cool. :0) RE: Top Up Oil - peet - 18-07-2012 07:28am I've done 4.5k and the oil was at the bottom of the dipstick. So I dropped into my dealer (Armstrong Massey in York) and they topped up the oil and did a software upgrade to fix my occasional problem with the electric tailgate not closing. They didnt charge. Excellent dealership ! RE: Top Up Oil - deadliner - 18-07-2012 01:10pm Upon handover I asked for oil and my dealer sold me Castrol 5w-30 C1. But he kept telling me, I will not need it, because Evoque does not consume oil... RE: Top Up Oil - XFullFatTim - 18-07-2012 02:11pm Don't believe him! The Evoque and all Land Rover/ Range Rover diesel engines are made with a high carbon content and absorb oil as part of the "running in" - sure not everybody has experienced it but it happens. My Evoque absorbed a lot less than the V6 and V8 TDs I had before but it still managed to get through over a litre of the good stuff in it's first 2000 miles, and now it has seen the light and 8000 miles later and it hardly uses any oil RE: Top Up Oil - cjfp - 18-07-2012 02:35pm Just spoke to my dealer, they are using / selling Shell Helix Diesel Ultra AF-L 5W 30 ACEA C1 @ £16.68 (inc vat) per litre and check this for £11.23 per litre (+£2.92 delivery) ; 5l £42.43 + £4.99 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pv-90032-shell-helix-diesel-ultra-af-l-5w-30-fully-synthetic-low-saps-engine-oil-1-litre.aspx?utm_source=ProductSearch&utm_medium=GoogleBase&utm_campaign=GoogleBase_ProductsFeed&utm_content=90032 5l £37.50 + £4.80 http://demonoils.co.uk/index.php/shell-helix-diesel-ultra-af-l-5w30-engine-oil-5l.html [Apologies as some of this appears to duplicate previous posts] RE: Top Up Oil - cjfp - 18-07-2012 03:39pm Just bought 5l Shell from Demonoils |
