Hi from Chorley! - abrown007 - 13-10-2011 06:15pm

Hi All

Been hovering for a while and spotted that you lot seem to be a friendly bunch so thought I'd join the throng!

I ordered my Pure SD4 auto in white with almond interior along with fogs, panny roof and private windows back in mid August. I ordered off Hunters Preston. I was surprised I did because the sales manager there was almost rude but the main sales guy there seems a good egg.

Getting nervous as I haven't received a build date but Hunters tell me I won't get a firm date until late this month. Fingers crossed!

I also wonder if I should've saved more dish and gone for bigger alloys. Have people here found that this is a must or will it do for now?

Finally, a confession. Whilst I've at least sat in a car at Hunter's launch in September, I haven't even driven one yet! I hope that doesn't make me a total nut but I think it probably does...

All the best
Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, you probably are a nut, but in the very best company now as I think you will find everyone on here paid a deposit before test driving one and many paid before even seeing one Very Happy

No not a nut...I ordered before I had seen one in the flesh!!!

Welcome aboard. We are a motley crew but most are harmless.
Lots of info here. We often have news before the dealers hear.
I drive through Chorley a lot on my way to Wilmslow so look out for a Ipanema Sand Coupe.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum and please feel free to ask questions somebody will an answer - but please use the search function first as many newbies ask the same questions so often your query will have been dealt with before, there isn't much we haven't been asked.

All of the early orders were made "blind", it was only after we had signed on the dotted line we got an invite to an Unleashed event for a couple of hours, and that event in some cases was only a month before delivery! So you are in the company of a few more "nutters" who bought without a decent drive - you won't regret it.

Welcome Andy,

You should be able to get yourself a test drive from the dealer now while you wait, that's all you'd get from most new car purchases anyways.

We're all a bit mad here buying a new car with little info, and risk of new build problems etc... But it's fun!

I quite like the 18" wheels, and the tyres will be cheaper to replace at least! Wink

Hi Andy, we have ordered from the same dealer and only live a couple of miles away. Should we start the Lancashire owners club??? Will be interesting to compare notes on the dealer, as I haven't been that impressed compared to the BMW dealer I usually use.

Well I didn't put a deposit down before driving one, but I did put it down within 20 minutes of finishing the test drive! Wink

Thank you, everyone, for your welcome and confirmation that there are other nutters out there!

Welcome!!

Glad you have decided in some Blind Faith!!

I am surprised you are expecting to be told your build date this month, good for you if you do mind, we put a deposit down in June this year and haven't heard a thing!! Just the dealer saying we should get for 1 March 2012 and will likely go for build in Jan?? Probably not though with all the delays an all!!

Anyway it will give you PLENTY of time to dream about it!!Very Happy
