Definately can on the Dynamic,
My dealer 'thought' you could on the prestige, bt the menu option wasn't present when we tried to do it in a demo car, therefore it might be one of those dealer activated functions you need to ask for at PDI/handover Very Happy

ETA, although reading that config sheet, looks like he was looking in the wrong place to change the colours, so I'll go ahead and yes yes to the rpestige too! lol

Any RRE with the 8" screen also has Ambient lighting controls in the menu of that. On the "home screen" bottom left, there is a touch button "Extra Features" - tap that and the next page shows choices - if you don't have surround cams then you will only have the "ambient lighting" button. Press it and you have 5 choices of light level/ colour - Neon Blue, Light Blue, White, "pink" and Red. BTW if your Dynamic has the illuminated tread strips on the door thresholds that lighting isn't included - it stays blue regardless of the setting on the ambient lighting, even when the door is closed they stay illuminated

Well thanks again for the great info. I find myself getting ridiculously excited by the configurable ambient lighting. A different hue for every mood. If a passenger/significant other being picked up asks "how are you today" they just might see the red lighting and know right away! Wink

I think ambient lighting is like some of the toys like surround cam and park assist etc - once the novelty of them wears off you don't use them. It's nice to be able to adjust the lights but honestly is it necessary. I decided that the white lights were nice enough, had them on my FFRR in the same places as the Evoque and I dread to think how much LR charged in the price of the car to be able to switch colours at the tap of a touch button on a screen.

You're right Tim the ambient lighting is just a gimmick. The wife has it on her Mini and the first couple of weeks she changed it everyday...it's been on pink for the last 18 monthsSmile

In Germany the ambient lighting is part of the techpack (pure). If you order a Pure in 2011 you are forced to choice the tech pack, too, so I look forward to it Smile

@daigriff - sure you didn't pick pink and then 'password protect' it? Laughing
