voice button problem

I've recently purchased a 2012 SD4 Pure and i'm having some issues with voice button on the steering wheel. Now i don't have the inbuilt navigation system, so does that mean the voice controls aren't enabled on my Evoque? when I press the voice control button on the steering wheel all it does is turn the audio off? surely it should be handsfree? am i missing something?

thx in advance for your help

RE: voice button problem

There should be two buttons, one is voice activation of some controls and the other is for the handfree phone. The speech activation should still work even without the nav as it can be used to operate the phone system and in car audio

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
