I agree. Back in the 70's engineering tolerances were no where near as good as today. Engines then needed de coking and re bores under 100 k miles. When did you hear of a modern engine needing such treatment
Engineering in the engines and the lubricants has moved on in leaps and bounds
In the end though it's your money
