Post: #1Prestige Spec v Pure Spec
I have been doing some price comparisons between Prestige and Pure. Trying to spec a Pure similar to Prestige to actually see what extra you get.....

SD4 Auto 4WD Prestige 38,975.00
Privacy Glass 350.00
Fixed Panoramic Roof 460.00

Total £39,785.00

SD4 Auto 4WD Pure Tech 33,200.00
Privacy Glass 350.00
Fixed Panoramic Roof 460.00
Xenon with LED Signature 710.00
Fog Lamps - Front 205.00
Metallic Paint 550.00
19" Style 5 Wheels 675.00
Premium mats 80.00
Memory Seats 900.00

Total £37,130.00

Difference £2,655.00

So, for over 2 grand you get full leather interior, higher quality leather seats, extra styling. Oh and a silver badge to show how posh you are!

Delivered: Evoque 5 door Prestige SD4 Auto 4WD, Orkney Grey, Fixed Panoramic Roof, Ivory Headliner, Vibe Interior, Spare wheel, 20" Chrome Shadow Style 7

I still don't think the Prestige is good value per se - but I prefer the total Prestige package. ..... and in my particular circumstance a Prestige will retain a higher percentage of its original purchase price than my initial order of a fully loaded Pure.

I agree. Before going to the evoque live event I had ordered a Pure with tech pack 20" wheels etc etc for about £35,000, as I felt it gave me everything I wanted and would save about £4,000 over a Prestige.

However, after comparing a Pure with the Prestige and Dynamic side by side... both myself (and Mrs DG) were bowled over by the look and quality of the Prestige, and whilst it didnt seem to make sense on paper, I could see why there was the cost premium over the Pure.

I immediately changed my order to a Prestige and am more than comfortable with my decision. I didnt like the Dynamic interior.

I also agree that the residuals on a £39,000 Prestige will be far better than on a £35,000 Pure.

All this residual talk is not really sensible in my opinion. Evoque, like most cars, is not an investment. The logic that spending £5k more on the car new, will be more beneficial in the future is rather illogical. Why not just save the £5k now. Also, if you are financing your vehicle, you will pay more interest on that £5k.

Who knows what they will be worth in 3 years. Demand is high. In 3 years they might be as common as a mini. Might be worth nowt because the roads are full of them!

Then minus
£300 Rear park aid + Camera
£150 Auto lights + wipers
£132 Kick Plates
£582

= £2,073 ..... then if you wanted the wood dash upgrade as I did ... Minus another £200.

So the real difference for me was £1,873 .... as I said its no bargain but if you look at the cost of Audi's leather upgrade its about the same.

SD4 Prestige Sport Auto 5 Door, Sumatra Black with Ambience interior, Magneride AD, 20" Style 6 Wheels, Panoramic Roof, Surround Cameras, Electric Tailgate, ADRVM.......& Heated Steering Wheel......Gorgeous

RE: Why the prestige over the pure?

Yep, that's the circa £2k I remembered. £5k is way off the Mark.

I think residuals are pretty important...nobody wants to lose too much cash on sale (sadly I have on a couple of cars) and I believe the Evoques residuals will be very strong. But a base model loaded with extras will generally have worse residuals than a "fully loaded as standard" Prestige model.

Also, the additional premium for the Prestige is more than worth it (again in my opinion) as the cabin is a more special place to be during ownership.

Time will tell...btw all the models are superb and there is no write or wrong answer.

Personally I'm not a fan of the Dynamic interior however I think it's easier to justify the extra cost on the Dynamic than it is on the Prestige.

By the way does anyone know where I could find a side by side comparison table of the standard equipment on the Pure, Prestige and Dynamic?

If it's not on the website, your dealer will be able to supply it to you like mine did me on paper sheets. They have a folder with all that in.Cool

Thanks - have asked my dealer!

I'm not sure I understand - the Parker's residuals indicate an almost identical 57% value of purchase price after 3 years. So surely the 43% loss is less on the cheaper car?

My understanding is that residuals are based on the base price of a particular model in the range...ie £29,705 for a 5 door SD4 Pure and £37,380 for an equivalent Prestige. However you would not retain 57% of the value of the options added to the Pure, so therefore a fully loaded Pure will probably have a proportionately lower residual value, as the extras will only add a fraction of the cost to the value of the car come sale time...if that makes sense.

Whereas a Prestige is pretty much fully loaded at outset.

Pure Tech is considered as a model in it's own right. So it's will be valued as such. Depends how many options you go for I suppose....
