Value for money vs Freelander

I have a confirmed the price of my evoque as 33.7K for a pure 150 manual with tech pack, privacy glass, dipping interior mirror, panoromic roof, and the equivilant of stlye pack (as individual options) but with 20" wheels.

The FL2 I was going to order, 150 PS manual HSE with standard 18" alloys and privacy (an all other spec is identical) is 34.1K.

Both are fiji white non metalic.

Suddenly the price of the evoque doesn't seem as expensive as we first thought??

- Plus Pack (Agility Pimento/Ebony Oxford Leather)

RE: Value for money vs Freelander

I did the same thing myself yesterday and the equivalent Freelander came in around £400 cheaper.

RE: Value for money vs Freelander

I think the Evoque is quite a bit cheaper than I was expecting. I would never consider paying £35k for a Freelander. The Freelander interior.... It's awfully dated.... LR should have done something about it at the last 'facelift'.

Delivered: Evoque 5 door Prestige SD4 Auto 4WD, Orkney Grey, Fixed Panoramic Roof, Ivory Headliner, Vibe Interior, Spare wheel, 20" Chrome Shadow Style 7

They were obviously focusing all their attention on the Evoque. I'd guess the FL3 will get its fair share of attention when the time comes.

I have to say though that as the owner of my second FL2, the interior is well made (if dated) but does have the novelty on a modern car of being able to see all four corners of the car and has great visibility around the a pillars.

Guess you can't have everthing!

RE: Value for money vs Freelander

Before Freelander3 there is RRS2 and L405 (the FFRR replacement) in 2013MY to get finished and launched, then the Defender replacement in 2015.................... Freelander2 might have to soldier on for a while yet!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Did you factor any discount that you could expect on the FL2 ?
Guess there is a fair % available even on the newer SD4Very Happy

I didn't. Just chucked my options into the online configurator. Having test driven one earlier in the year (which had a glove box secured with blu tac despite being brand new) I'd need a hefty discount to even consider buying one.

That is quite a novelty. You can't even see out the back of the latest model Fiesta.
