The Evoques Little Cousin.

I recently got a link to the Volvo website, which was advertising the New V40 Cross Country.

Volvos aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but I can see this one doing quite well as it shares the same family history of the Evoque. Along with much of the technology and options wizardry.

To my mind it is more stylish than the Audi, BMW and Nissan offerings.

AWD is only available in the petrol and starts at £33k, 47 mpg, 0 - 60, 5.7sec and Top speed of 155mph.

My guess is that it will sell quite well.

Any idea who owns Volvo now?

Evoque No3: MY15 Dynamic Lux SD4, Auto, Santorini Black, Pimento Dynamic Plus Sports Seats, Ebony headlining, Pan Roof, Shadow Chrome Alloys.

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group own Volvo after Ford sold off their premier automotive group, LR, Jaguar (now JLR), Volvo and I think they sold off Aston Martin.

IIRC Aston is owned by a consortium of Dubai investors and Pro-Drive.

Personally I think the Volvo looks awful, especially in the metallic bronze paint job. LR has a similar colour called Nara Bronze and the RRS and FFRR look great in it

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I think the V40 looks ok and shame they don't offer the 4 wheel drive version with a diesel!
