Temperamental Tailgate

Is anyone having problems with their electric tailgate?

Mine opens with no problems every time but will not always close with the push of the button, it's totally random, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.Confused

RE: Temperamental Tailgate

There are some comments on another thread here, which goes along the lines of, opens OK, but does not close as this is some kind of safety feature, preventing you from trapping someone or something as it closes.

Sorry I don't think I described it clearly it's the button on the inside of the hatch that's temperamental, I realise the button on the keyfob won't close the boot.

if the boot opens electronically but will not close electronically slowly close the tailgate by hand and then try to open and close the tailgate again

Ask me, I may just know the answer !!

Mine seems to have sorted itself out, it hasn't happened for the last 3 months.

RE: Temperamental Tailgate

Mine only happened once, but also involved the tailgate not opening and closing. I had to manually open and close it which appeared to reset it and worked ok there after. It happened back in Janauary early in the morning so perhaps it was to do with cold.

Arrived 22nd December - SD4 Dynamic Auto, Fuji White, Panoramic/Contrast Roof, Dynamic Plus & Lux Pack

What you need to do is reset the tailgate memory..

Open the tailgate to the height required and then hold the hatch button in for 10 seconds, (this will reset the memory) and then once closed you can then open from either key fob, interior switch, or hatch button and then close as normal..all should be ok again..Very Happy
