Real world mpg

600 miles in. Averaging 45 mph on my journey to work which is 25 miles motorway and 5 miles country roads. Normally 80mph on motorway. Getting 29 mpg. My ex BMW 635 did 34 mpg with a 3L turbo engine. I hope this improves.... When is everyone else seeing mpg improve after the engine loosens up?

RE: Real world mpg

Ok starting with the graphs again...

Anyone any ideas what other info would be of use on the graph?

This is actual measured mpg by fuel used, not the calculated on car, that's been around 34-36mpg the whole time

Real world mpg

I have an Audi A4 tdi 170 at the moment, had it for 3 years and it has averaged 44mpg over 90k miles.
Hoping for close to that with my Sd4 coming in March. The Audi did 37. mpg for the first few thousand when new. Fingers crossed.

RE: Real world mpg

Driving sd4 manual at 65 mph on the motorway = average 51.4 mpg .....at 70mph it comes down to 45mpg .....urban driving = 30-35mpg! Will monitor?..

RE: Real world mpg

I'm intrigued by all these figures for economy in particular the SD4, I've been a diesel convert in terms of ownership for at least the last ten years, and before then I'd been driving the pool cars at work, some of them had over 100k miles on the clock and were still going strong.

My current diesel is a Merc C320cdi V6 with the seven speed autobox, that has just hit 20,000 miles, the digital readout for that distance is showing an average of 29.7 mpg, not bad for a big motor that does the majority of its work in and around town.

If the Evoque betters that then I'll be happy, but I really would have hoped it would be nearing 38-40 mpg, especially as JLR have pointed out the use of lightweight construction material.

Not sure....today's drive saw an improvement in average - previously was getting 47mpg at 65mph. I do use cruise control to get my best average and boot is not loaded.....
