Don't forget US gallons are smaller than imperial gallons and the octane rating of petrol in the US is typically 91-93 compared to 95-97 here.

In Germany you can buy "Racing 100" or even 101 which gives great performance but it's typically €1.70 a litre.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

Worth knowing that Shell and Tesco sell "super" which is 99 octane rather than the usual 97 sold in UK.

Wow. That's great. I'm in a sd4 auto. Done 1000 miles. Mixture of motorway and city. I'd say 40/60 split accordingly. Averaging 31mpg.

RE: Real world mpg

Had an hours test drive in a Si4 yesterday that had 1300 miles on the clock and it was showing 26.6 mpg after driving quickly along some back roads then trawling through town traffic on the way back.

It was enough for me to change from the Sd4 to the petrol as I'm doing low mileage, short journeys and was really impressed with the engine.

Current: Si4 - HSE Dynamic Lux - Corris Grey with Black Pano - Adaptive Dynamics - ATPC - Adaptive LED Headlights - Privacy Glass - Style 508's - Heated Steering Wheel - Spare Wheel - Ebony Headlining
Previous: Si4 - Dynamic 5 Door - Lux - Orkney Grey with Black Pano

RE: Real world mpg

The highest I have got was 45.9mpg from Walsall to Peterborough! At the moment I have to go through Birmingham in the morning and evening at rush hour and I'm getting just over 37 which isn't too bad as there is a bit of start stop traffic and then usually a nice clear run once I get past Birmingham. Cars done 2700 miles and is an sd4 and have had it exactly 1 month today! Smile
