RE: Any Comments from Evoque Owners on Rear Camera or Recommendations for Options?

I am used to using my eyes and mirrors for reversing and have no problem at all with reversing the Evoque, even though the cam is there and mine has the bendy yellow guide lines as well I still prefer to see what I am doing - the only time I use the rear cam is as I get close to either the back of my Defender on the drive or the wall at the end of a parking slot in an NCP. Must get the owner's manual out to see what the yellow turning red "tabs" that appear in the screen mean - it's something to do with the distance to the wall I suspect!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

As i remember the red thing marks how clse can you go to the wall, and still be able to open the boot.

I think the yellow guidelines ome with the standard rear view cam as well.

I saw the surround cameras on a Disco 4 in action and thought they were great. However you look at it, the Evoque is a wide car and will require careful positioning in parking spaces designed for more normal cars. The surround camera system will more than pay for itself if you avoid just one parking scrape. I would say the rear camera is essential, the surround camera system gives added security but care will still be required when manoeuvring this car in a confined space.
