RE: New Member - Help with Build and Price

The LCT is calculated on the price of the car, plus any options , plus delivery delivery, plus gst.

The only figures you don't include is the rego and stamp duty.

You should ask your dealer for a written full drive away quote, which will include stamp duty, lct if applicable.

Don't just go a verbal discussion saying what the price is.

SD4 Pure, Auto, 5 dr, Mauritius Blue, Pure Tech Pack, Reversing Camera, Front parking aid, Heated seats, Sat Nav, mud flaps. after market tint.

Thanks. I'll arrange to get a new quote as I've ticked off a few options since my initial quote and can see they forgot to include a few things including Navigation which is $3400 on its own. Based on what you've said it's seems strange that LCT is calculated on top of GST which is essentially 'taxing a tax' if that makes sense.

I know, i too was surprised about the taxing a tax! They include the GST in the total price to determine if the car reaches or exceeds the LCT threshold, yet it is then minused out during the calculation of the LCT due.

Here is a good Aust Tax office publication which explains the LCT.

http://www.ato.gov.au/content/downloads/...092011.pdf

The current limit is $75375 for fuel efficient (7.0l/100km combined cycle or less)
otherwise its $57466 - hence why Im not getting the petrol evoque!

Thanks for the link.

It would be nice to get my build in under the 75k threshold but it seems I am quite a bit over Sad If I was close I would consider dropping a few options but it appears I'm about 7k over?

It looks like I'll need to build a car under $68,522 (plus 10% GST) to be exempt from LCT if my sums are accurate.

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket device that allows us to watch TV in motion?

I'm considering adding Analogue/Digital TV but not too thrilled about paying another $1270 for the split-screen function.

- Air Filtration
- Illuminated Door Sills
- High Beam Assist (cannot be added to Pure)

The difference in price between Pure and Dynamic comes to $8645.

How very interesting, I've looked at this again, and there does appear to be a significant difference.... making me think about heading back to the dealer to change my order Smile There are a few additional differences I've added below, and also you've calculated the front parking sensors which come with the dynamic pack in the cost difference....

The differences in these 2 builds following Tech Pack/Dynamic Pack options that I can see are:
- Cosmetic/body kit
- Superior interior quality leather seats (this is questionable as with Tech Pack there is a seat upgrade which is hard to compare to a Dynamic, I haven't seen the two side by side)
- Electric seats (can be added to Pure for $955 without memory function) *Apparently standard from Nov Production on p10?
- Voice Control
- Air Filtration
- Illuminated Door Sills
- High Beam Assist (cannot be added to Pure)
- 19" Mags vs 18" in Pure upgraded with Tech Pack
- Interior auto dimming rear view mirror
- Heated Exterior Mirrors with electric adjustment, puddle lamps, memory function & auto dipping in reverse
- Aluminum pedals
- Improved finish of center console
- Rain sensing auto wipers
- Configurable interior mood lighting
- Perforated Oxford Leather steering wheel, gear knob

But is it worth a $8025 difference with potentially a further 33% on top in LCT? That is a very good question!
