Less Popular Options

We know the options list is long(-ish) but some are more popular than others. Glass roof, privacy glass, foglights (on a Pure), tailgate all seem popular. But what about these:

- Adaptive Headlights
- Auto Dimming Mirror
- Luggage Rails
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring
- Surround Camera
- Heat Reflecting Glass
- Keyless Entry
- Ashtray(!)

I've just added surround camera to mine after wiping out a Mercedes alloy over the weekend on a high kerb in a 6ft 6" width restriction.

Ignoring those bundled in the Entertainment and Lux packs, have any of you dipped into these less popular options?

It would be interesting to know what the least popular option is - luggage rails I think or do you know better?

Mark

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

RE: Less Popular Options

I have all of those, except the ashtray.

I may have adopted somewhat of a machine-gun approach to the options list - hit anything that moves (or rather, if in doubt, spec it...!)

RE: Less Popular Options

My order only left 5 option boxes unticked......... metallic paint, ashtray, solar attenuating glass (hardly necessary in Scotland!), high beam assist and the load space divider. Added from the accessories list I have specced a removable tow bar as well. Most of the options on my order are contained in the option packs rather than each item being ticked/not ticked.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I chose Surround Cameras for the same reason - I don't want to be Kerbing alloys ..... plus it looks a really cool gadget

Auto Dimming RV Mirror for me ... all my cars since 1998 have had them even my Fiat 500 has got one so I'm not spending £40k on a car to flick a RVM switch myself!... to my mind this item should be standard on Prestige & Dynamic ...... as should rear vents ...... but don't get me started.

.

SD4 Prestige Sport Auto 5 Door, Sumatra Black with Ambience interior, Magneride AD, 20" Style 6 Wheels, Panoramic Roof, Surround Cameras, Electric Tailgate, ADRVM.......& Heated Steering Wheel......Gorgeous

RE: Less Popular Options

@mark_n: From your list, I chose Adaptive Headlights and Auto Dimming Mirror.

The adaptive headlights have turned out to a pain to spec as dealer wasn't sure about which xenons etc so have had to change the order a couple of times - of course, it is the expensive xenon option that is required Wink If it wasn't such a pain to change (leasing the vehicle so more hassle than just calling the dealer as needs re-quoting etc) I would probably just remove the option.
