Hand-free opening of trunk lids like BMW 5

Hi

my name is Felix from Germany and hopefully i will receive my Evoque in Zanibar next month. Does anybody tried to modify the trunk opening by feet like in the new BMWs?

I found a person who done it in his Golf https://vimeo.com/71595483 and he used this sensor https://www.mysick.com/eCatSEO.aspx?go=D...duktfinder

Here is the thread but it is in german and not completely http://www.golf4.de/elektronik-tacho-ala...ebnis.html

I think he build in a time relay also. I sended him an email and will inform you if I receive an answer but maybe here is already somebody who knows how to do?

Greets Felix

Ford also offers it on some of their newer vehicles too - might get the bits cheaper from a Ford parts shop than a BMW one ................

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
