RE: TPMS- how does it work?

Rather annoyingly just been to look at my valves and I don't think I have TPMS fitted on my sept 2013 car. Also no menu in the computer screen so guess this confirms it. Doh! Just presumed it would have TPMS!

So, got 5 new TPMS sensors if anyone after some.

These ones.

I think so - my late 2013 doesn't have TPMS.

Last 2013 SD4 Auto, Prestige, Pano, Firenze Red. Loving the USB shuffle.

RE: TPMS- how does it work?

TPMS is an option Aus spec cars. I haven't had a look at TOPIx for my 2106 RRE but I didn't option in TPMS.

I had it in my previous car and it was the old system that assessed the rolling speed of the wheels to detect deflation. I had on puncture when owning that car and I felt the change in the tyre long before the TPMS did.

So my question, is TPMS built into all RREs and just not coded and no sensors in the wheels? I.e. can I buy the sensors then go into the coding in the car to activate the system?

Cheers

Hi. I've sold these now I'm afraid through a for sale ad on this forum.

RE: TPMS- how does it work?

Earl, it is a legal requirement for all European spec cars now, but I would imagine it is a market specific option elsewhere so doubt that all the kit will be there

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
