RE: Evoque review

After all the gushing reviews the Evoque gets maybe it's a dose of reality in the context of the US market? It isn't unfair and nothing is ever perfect..

Delivered 15th May 2012, rejected and returned 4th Feb 2013 - SD4 5 door Prestige manual with a bucket full of rattles Mauritius Blue. Crazy Audi MY2020 RSQ3

RE: Evoque review

A fair review I would say. Perhaps a little picky on the hand brake(which you'l probably never touch as it's automatic) and the terrain select buttons but I agree with him about the console. The biggest negative on an otherwise very nice luxury car IMO.

Most of the rave reviews out there don't even touch on these points as they are focused around off road performance etc.

Finally Arrived 06/02/12 Very Happy :

RE: Evoque review

Interesting view about the deep set LCD screen, I have never thought anything about it being deep set Confused It has never concerned me. The slowness of inputting an address is a pain.

It is a shame that the US does not get the diesel as I find the power delivery very smooth and progressive.

Pure TD4, Fiji, Auto, Pan Roof + Extras - Delivered Very Happy

RE: Evoque review

Well, he did mention about the greenest thing that LR has made and it only gives 28 mpg... True.
The deep set screen is perfect to keep reflections off. I like the way he was poking at the buttons.... Hasn't he heard of touchscreen???
The panoramic glass roof extends to Cape of Good Hope???? I thought he was only wearing spectacles instead of binoculars to see that far!!! Such a joker.... Should have this report in ,'Animals do the funniest thing!'

Got mine : Dynamic Fuji White with Lux Pack and black contrast roof.
Optional extras : Privacy glass, Heated steering wheel and TPMS.

As the car he was testing was an Si4 and those will be US Gallons/mile then he isn't doing too badly, but it could still be better. My 3.6ltr TDv8 FFRR could get 34mpg on a steady cruise at 70mphand downhill on the M40 with a tail wind got 37mpg on one occasion, my 3.6lt TDv8 RRS generally got 32-34 on the same long run as the FFRR.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Two questions - What colour interior is that, and what's an 'LR4'?

I wondered if that's what it was. I don't know whether it's the red exterior reflecting on to the interior, but it looks a lot like the Almond you can get on a Pure.

Incidentally, in another Evoque video (also from the USA) it states that the Evoque replaces the "outdated" LR2 (which appears to be what they call a Freelander 2).
