RE: Evoque Roof Rails - Now available

Hi Dan, i'm considering getting racks, but only when i my car arrives, which will be about Feb-March,and if i do,i'll be definately buying from you.
I have a question though, which i hope you, or anyone else could answer..... With the Evoque, are their any anchor points allocated under the finishing trim for fitting crossbars only? (No siderails, just crossbars like seen on RRS & FFRR).

One observation i made is that with the Pano roof, the glass extends into the rail space between the anchor points for the side-rails, suggesting their is no anchor points for cross-bars,and for that reason, i imagine their would not be any underneath the finishing trim of the solid roof versions either.

There is a Thule cross bar only kit using the 754 feet and the 1663 adapter kit which is specific to the Evoque and does not require the LR rails.

Required components:
Thule Rapid System 754
Thule WingBar 962 or 862 or 762
Kit 1663 Rapid
Thule One Key System 544, 4 cylinders

It's not clear to me the Thule system works with a Evoque Coupe...

These prices are just for the parts. If you have any DIY skill at all, it will be easy to fit them yourself. The main requirement is to find a plastic pry tool to remove the existing trim strips without damage to the car - a screwdriver is definitely not the right tool. These are readily available on eBay.

I'm not sure but it is listed as for the 5 door - worth calling Thule customer services to check with them

Can't see how a rear cross rail could be fitted - without a rear door aperture, there's nothing to grip on to. In any case, I'm going for the standard LR rails though will probably not use their roof box. Initial impressions are the Evoque's boot space is smaller than I expected.

They fit like this... with an evoque specific fitting kit so it wraps around the frame
