Dirt trap area, potential area for corrosion

I washed the car myself today (the first wash I have given it since September, all the rest have been at the pressure washer in town). When I washed the lower doors I was amazed at how much dirt was flushed out from between the outer plastic skin / trim panel and the outer metal skin of the door. I just hope that the door skin behind the plastic panel has been well coated and rust proofed as this will be a place that will trap dirt and be hard to keep dry in the UK

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I have 250 miles to drive to get there I doubt it would stay that clean, might have to find a car wash in Halewood
