RE: Difference Between MY12 and MY13 Pure

If I could find a reasonably priced 2013MY grill with the LR badge I'd swap my current one out for it. Still looking though.

Arrived 16 December 2011: Prestige SD4 auto 5dr in OG with Adaptive Dynamics, Adaptive Xenons, Surround Cameras, Auto Dimming Rearview, Grey Oak Wood, Spare Wheel and Powered Tailgate.

Don't forget about VW and Lamborghini or Fiat and Ferrari. Even us Americans separate the fords from the Lincoln. Those educated weenies think they need to refresh a brand to look innovative

RE: Difference Between MY12 and MY13 Pure

Chance of buying either brand new, both with the same spec Tech pack, privacy etc, except colour (MY12 Fuji).
Firstly what's the difference (I know about the grill) and what sort of discount should I expect on the MY12 model?

In Oz we get rear vents as standard in the MY13 but not the MY12. Doesn't make any difference if you get the tech pack.
I want the RR center caps too but also like the unique brand positioning of RR and LR. It's part of what the RR is meant to be. Also in 4wd circles, LR has the strongest following worldwide or at least they are the most passionate about the brand. I picked the Evoque partly for that reason. I have never owned a 4wd or LR before, only sporty road cars and loved my modified Commodore for 14 years. I had to have the Evoque when I saw it.

So do you think there's any room for a discount on the MY12?

While us time lords (see thread about time warps) are lining up for a 6 month wait there are no discounts.

Discounts may apply to floor stock only and you cant order an MY12 from the factory anymore. You will have to take the colour and options the dealer chose. You need to convince the dealer no-one else is stupid enough to take the car to get them to lower the price. Always worth trying.

In Oz the dealers aren't even selling their demos until the new models arrive. It is 7 months wait here.

The Evoque was the first of Land Rovers attempts to create a brand split, but according to a LR "survey" most Range Rover owners were proud of the LR heritage so Range Rovers now retain the Land Rover badge.

Just a bit of boring trivia, it was the 1989MY before the LR badge was featured on a Range Rover and has been there ever since.

I wonder which owners thay contacted for the survey. Defender owners club perhaps ?. I for one dont like the LR badge on the back of my Evoque, partly because it looks like it came from halfords or ebay, and I hate the one on the MY13 grill, its soooo unbalanced the look of the grill

Actually since the stick is so poor on the badge flat blade will easily pop it off (yes I did mine with a screw driver as it was the only thing to hand and it did not mark the car)Wink

I even bought the classic LR logo with green background that I will put on the grid instead of the black. I love it too much!!!
