Many thanks
They're not as good as the Freelander mk1 racks then, other than being oval shaped. I don't like the allen key type fitting.

Tried the Thule 757 foot against the roof rail at the weekend and it won't work. Definately the wrong profile.

Don't know what to do now...

Thule foot rail mount is Rapid System 757 or RT757.

Strange, as Capial seems to have successfully fitted the Thule?

As regards fitting, it is a torx key in the form of a T bar with Torque indicator to assist with tightening. On the whole I have been pretty pleased and a better set up than I had on my Scenic which had the older style foot pack that utilised the door shut!

Fitted the Karrite top box in preparation for my Easter break in a week or so.

Jeez...... At only 5' 7" , was on heck of a struggle to get the clamps screwed on on the hinged side. had to get my knee up on the roof rail to try and stretch across!

Recommendation invest a little (lot) extra when buying a box and get one that hinges both sides!

Now if someone did a set of ladders that could just hook onto the roof rails I'd buy them!

Chuckie - I'm also 5ft 7" and although I don't use a roof rack (I have a trailer which is far more useful and doesn't waste fuel!) and to reach the roof for washing I have one of those plastic storage boxes that double as a "mounting" block for carrying around the bits that I like to have in the boot for a long journey that won't fit into the under floor well or are best to carry upright so they won't leak (top-up oil, screen wash etc). I have an set of 4 step aluminium ladders for when I need to use the roof rack for my Defender though.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
