Big oops

So I took delivery of the gorgeous one yesterday. The excitement and pleasure is too overwhelming. Have to keep on pinching myself. And I'm even reading the user manuals (gives self pat on the back). HOWEVER, it appears as though the Land Rover guys and gals in the UK made a slight error. I have a right hand drive vehicle, which is great seeing as I live in South Africa. They then really need to explain to me why the bonnet release button is on the passenger side. I scratch my head...
Now what?Confused

RE: Big oops

I think it's because even though LR is British & we drive on the correct side of the road they are more interested in catering fot our LHD friends. Mad

The official response from my dealer:
''The reason for that is you can only open the door on the
passenger side with the service blade when your battery is flat, giving
you easier access.''
Well well - I'm going with your explanation The V.

RE: Big oops

my RRS's also had the bonnet release in the passenger side but my FFRR's had in the drivers side - my Defender offends nobody, it's release is near the middle but offset a bit toward the right, but you need muscle of iron and the strength of popeye to get it to release!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Big oops

It probably just ended up that side as the easier side to route it after all the important stuff went in... Doubt there's any secret squrrel reason... Laughing

RE: Big oops

I had a 1995 Ford Escort, the level under the steering rack which I took to be the steering wheel adjuster was in fact to open the bonnet, bad design.
Ford had made the level orange, but not a lot of good when seating in the drivers seat.

RE: Big oops

Everything in the Evoque is tailored towards LHD rather than RHD, take for example, the audio power/volume knob, the buttons on the sides of the 8" touch screen (the frequently pressed ones are on the left), the homelink buttons, the emergency key access and of course, the bonnet release lever.

Evoque SD4 Coupé Dynamic, Fuji White, Santoriny Pano roof, Lux pack, RSE, style 8 wheels, along with everything else.
