Apple OS X Mavericks

My MacBook Air and Mac are both suggesting this is now the best thing since sliced bread for Apple computers
is it worth the online time (I have a slow connection which says the 5.6Gbs will take 2 hours to download.
Anybody already tried it?

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

If you use your laptop off power a lot then it is definitely worth it as you will likely get 1+ hours of additional battery life from the upgrade due to efficiency changes they have made in the operating system.

That is the major feature you are likely to notice.

RE: Apple OS X Mavericks

One thing I had to do that I have never had to do with an Apple OS upgrade before was create a whole new account to get into my Macbook Air, once I did that I could then re-open my old log-in on it, weird!

That is odd. I did not need to do that on any of ours.

Was worried I had lost all my previous, apps, docs, pictures etc, but then found my old profile and logged in with no problem.
To be honest, not noticed much difference so far on my Mac book

RE: Apple OS X Mavericks

Micky it makes me a bit wary of now updating my Mac as well - mind you I have a limited Broadband account and 11.2Gb to carry out 2 updates is almost half a month's allowance - will wait until my next billing month starts as I've changed my Plusnet unlimited monthly for less than I was paying on my 25Gbs a month

Installed it to-day using a BT Infinity connection. It took around 16 minutes to download and 30 minutes or so to install itself plus another 10-15 minutes to carry out updates to various apps once it had installed.

I have to admit I am impressed with it especially as it was a free system update.

Same here. Infinity download. Quick and painless. Not looked around it much yet but will have a play and update apps this evening.
