2016 facelift conversion.

So, with the increasing number of facelift owners I was wondering if anyone can clarify the differences in the facelift.

My car is a dynamic with black pack so would just need the rear lights which I believe are plug and play, and the front facelift.

For the front, can anyone confirm if the front wings are differnt. From the pics I see they look the same?

So, two headlights are obviously required. Seem to be around £600 on eBay. Front grill new is £280. And the dynamic bumper is £1000 with grills/ lights.

Can anyone shed light on the wings? Would anyone know if parking sensors are the same size? If they are the same, surely it should be fairly simple.

From the LR picS above is the new model lower, and on bigger wheels as it looks it, or is it just photoshopped?

Anyone in the process?

I've been pondering the lights also. I was thinking if I got the same spec lights, so xenon with running lights ( dynamic), and avoided the led facelift ones then surely there's a good chance they may plug in. I presume the DLR and the Xenin bulbs are the same set up on both models. Looking at pics they both look like they have a round plug. Could get lucky.

RE: 2016 facelift conversion.

Well, I've been giving this facelift thing some thought and 95% sure I'm going to have a go. I've got some 2016 black pack rear lights winging there way to me along with some facelift wing mirrors ( both should be plug and play). I'm picking up some 2016 hid xenon headlights next week. These could prove tricky but will compare connections when they arrive. Also got quoted a good price from Dan at duckworth parts for the 2016 dynamic bumper with black pack styling/ BP fogs/ and black pack front grill, so just checking some final bits before i pull the trigger on that.

Also reviewing wheel options, but thinking 9" or 10" all round in black in a style similar to Oem but a bit more about them.

Hi Nick,

I've given some thought to your plans. I'm wondering if it adds up financially. Years back I knew a few guys that were into what I think is now called 'pimping your ride'. They would take a basic car, spend thousands on it, maybe get a double page spread in a car mag, then sell it a while later and take a huge financial hit. Have you done the sums for this project and then compared that cost including your car value to buying a MY16 outright. Would it be that much different trading yours in as it is now/selling privately to buy a MY16?

Sorry if this sounds naive, but it seems you have an expensive shopping list on the go there.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, done my sums. ive had a few facelifted cars and always come out very favourably.

By the time I've sold my black pack dynamic bumper/ dark fogs/ black pack front lights/ black pack grill and clear rear lights, the difference is really not that much. just a bit of time and experimentation.

Well, all the very best then Nick. I'm looking forward to seeing the results, so don't forget to post photo's and info on how the fitting process went.
