Those of you with keyless entry will be well aware if the security issues and concerns about thieves using scanners to grab the signals between the fob and the car. One way to protect yourself against this is to by a Faraday Cage type pouch to store the key fobs in. These are soft finish pouches with a special metallic mesh lined section that encloses the fob in a mesh envelope and blocks the transmissions. After trying several of these pouches to little or no effect I have found this really cheap one on Amazon that works and blocks the signals 100%. For the £7 charge you get 2 pouches.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07B...UTF8&psc=1

It is important that you make sure that you put the key fob into the section that is fully lined with the mesh, not the front section (that offers no protection) !

When you open it it might look like this, which isn’t the Secure part

Drop your keyboard into the section fully lined with the special blocking mesh thus
Release the sides seams to close and the fold the cover over onto the Velcro to completely seal the envelope
This topic is really just so anyone searching in future might benefit from the photo I took. You can see where the two spring clips are at the rear edges. This is where you can use a clean screwdriver or panel removal tool to lever the console out if you ever need to.
And for some reason, it palys different tunes for different fixed speed camera spots, it also does a different sound when approaching certain large overpass round-abouts. I have searched the menus for over 1/2 hour and gave up + looked all through the manual and couldn't find any reference to it at all. Surely there is a way to change this?

Hi,

Probably been done before, but I thought I'd start this thread for a bit of fun. If anyone comes across a great deal for parts, accessories, or anything for the Evoque, please add it here, but only if it doesn't breach site rules.

After finding the bargain Osram interior bulbs yesterday, today I found another deal that may be of interest.

A set of 4 foam mop type bendy brushes. At only 4,99€ a set, could be the cheapest wheel cleaners around. Not tried them yet, but they should clean without damaging the alloy.

This is this weeks deal at Lidl, France, but I'm certain they'll be available in all European outlet's at some point.

Please note, I can't vouch for the info, I've no need for this as the Start Stop seems to work 1 in 100 stops for me so have no need for this mod Maybe my 2nd Battery is near dead already

Whilst driving along a B road the other day, up a head I spotted three large looking pigeons. As I rule wild life do like to play chicken (no pun intended) & leave it to the very last second before moving away. But as allways I did slow down. Two of them spotted straight way that I was driving a RRE & flew off, but the third (must have been a teenager) left it a little too late & flew straight up on to my near side wing mirror. This than caused the mirror body to fold in. Must have been some force to cause this action against the mirror motors. With nowwhere to pull over & check my mirror (the bird wouldn't have survived that impact) I tried the electric folding mirror switch.
Folding in the drivers mirror (shows that i was driving under 70mph) than unfolding them & to my surprise both mirrors returned to there normal position.

Now the point to this tale is the fact that being a LR it can withstand the impact of wildlife & knows to resett it's self when one mirror is folded in & you tell it to "fold in". I say this as other vehicles I have owned won't & you have to force the mirror open manually.

Do any of you with my13 cars have any updates to the Bluetooth options.

I would love the option of handling or switching between calls on the cars system, it shows the second call coming through but you cannot access it via car, unless I am going mad, if any of you know a fix then please let me know.

I know on VWs or Audis or BMW,s you can handle the call on the screen, you can place a call on hold and answer another and then switch, I wish we could on the evoque.

Any updates anybody, I am sure you would be ble to do this on a disco or a FFRR
