M6 North of Carlisle - First Evoque I have seen in Phoenix Orange - a 16 plate HSE Lux Dynamic Evoque with a Black Contrast roof. Looks a huge amount better in the flesh than it does on the configurator, and the colour also suits Evoque better than it does Discovery Sport. I would certainly consider speccing it if I were buying an Evoque now. IIRC it is a metallic paint but it does look more like a solid when one overtakes you on the motorway.

With a Black Contrast Roof and the Grey 20" Autobiograpghy wheels it's a killer from the looks point of view. It is the car that they have used in their item about keyless entry systems and remote locking - one downer...... it looks like LR's latest antitheft device is a hasp poprivetted to the door and side body with a large brass padlock on it, kind of spoils the lines a bit!
Yes I know it was photoshopped onto the picture of the car by the paper............................

on the way back from our day out at Solihull, we stopped at a service station and had been there about 2 minutes when a car, in the disruptive camo wrap parked along side us.
The driver disappeared and I got some lovely shots on the iPhone.
Quickly tapped the reg into an app I have on the phone and it came up as a 4 door Jaguar in black but no model number, when the driver returned I said "nice Jag" to which he replied "might be" he then told me it was being released after Christmas, but still remained tight lipped about the make.
If anyone has a better app the reg was VU14 XSX

Was driving passed Morrison's Land Rover in Bannockburn this afternoon and had to turn round and go back as they have on their forecourt a Zanzibar 5 Door Dynamic with Black interior and privacy, no pano roof. This is the first one I've seen in the flesh and in the dull grey and rain of today it was a stunning colour - quite a bit more orange than I expected ( I was expecting it to be browner than it is). If you want to stand out from the herd of Firenze Reds and Fuji Whites it's a very eye catching colour and certainly suits the Evoque - the one at Morrison's has a body coloured roof - I think it need the contrast or pano roof to finish it off. Will have to go back and see if i can get a photo in the daylight tomorrow. The Dynamic also looks naked without the aeroflip!

I've just been on a lovely drive to give my Defender a good long run (Stirling/Doune/ Callander/ Crianlarrich/ Tyndrum and back via the Trossachs along the A84/A85 for those that know the area) and as I came passed the Lake Hotel at Port of Menteith on my way home there were at least 6 Evoques parked in a line in the hotel car park. Secret LR management meeting perhaps?

If the weather tomorrow is the same as it was today (cloudless skies but cool and clear) it's well worth the drive as the scenary is stupendous. Not too many leaves have fallen, the leaf colours are amazing this year, the mountains are all turning brown as the bracken dies off for the winter and the various lochs were like mirrors reflecting the lovely blue sky.

High recommend the Real Food Cafe at Tyndrum and Mhor 84 Hotel/cafe at Balquiddher (was known as the Kings House Hotel until 4 months ago). Even getting stuck in a 2 mile long tailback behind a coach was not a hardship with the stunning scenary and a few others must have thought the same thing as nobody tried to overtake, not even motorcyclists for whom that road is a must drive trip for them.
