Does anyone have a Westfalia or TowTrust detachable towbar on an L538 with Dynamic bumpers?

If so, please could you take a photo of the bumper from the ground up showing the cut needed. I'm keen to have as small a cut as possible. I've tried searching around the forum but have not managed to find one showing where the bumper is actually cut.

I'd be interested in other brands if there's one with a smaller/no cut but from what I've found so far, it comes down to Westfalia or TowTrust.

Thanks in advance.

So to cut a long story short. My house was broken into and they took the keys for my beloved Evoque . Landrover were super unhelpful in tracking the car. But I took a punt on renewing my expired Incontrol app and got a ping on parked location. Cops were quick to respond and I got the car back with damages and random parts of car removed like overhead console etc. ( Must have been searching for tracker ). Cant talk too much about as investigation is still ongoing but I had an integrated Dash cam from AliExpress which they didn’t clock . Worth the investment guys. Now I am paranoid about the car being nicked so after some research plan on doing the following security upgrades and wanted the community input on my ideas and any install. The below is based on my car being an 2015 Evoque and not a Ferrari so types of criminals are likely to be chancers rather than proper professionals with all the right gear and know-how.

Level 1 security upgrade - £150
After some research, I purchased a CAN BUS firewall. AMPIRE WFS400. You all will know this as a Ghost 2 pincode type immobiliser. Having contacted authorised seller it supports my Evoque and requires splicing of a couple of CAN cables which I plan to do deep into Dash.

If you guys know of any covert places to tap the 12+ perm, Ground and ignition live please let me know.
I want to stay away from battery and fuse boxes as the thieves had already got to those locations and pulled a bunch of stuff.

Level 2 security upgrade ( Backup ) Tracker - £50 + Relay block £15
I’m also going to add the REWIRE SECURITY DB1-LITE plus REWIRE Ignition replay block. This is so in case they get around the CAN BUS firewall somehow. This way I can track the car and also remotely via app trigger the ignition replay block .

Now my plan is to cut one the start / stop button wires and place the relay in-between. The reason Im thinking of this location is that is a pain to get into and not somewhere they will think off quickly. What do you guys think. If any one knows colour of wire to cut to do this please let me know. ( I believe its brown ) or a reason not to do this please let me know[size=medium].

I hope to do a video install of all once I have confirmed install locations for the community. Video link will probably be by request for people really wanting to install extra security as I don’t want thieves to be able to view.

I have a 2014 Dynamic Lux

I know there are a couple posts relating to Auto High Beam Assist (AHBA) and there are mixed feelings about whether it’s actually any good. That aside, I would like to retro fit it to my car.

I did a bit of research and Powerful have a video of the removal of the rear-view mirror and then comments stating the AHBA mirror was fitted and that it works fine after editing the CFF file.

I managed to get a mirror – the first one that arrived did’nt fit my Evoque. There appear to be 2 types of attachments – one is a circle and the other is a square shape – Powerful video shows the circle attachment. Mine is the latter.

So, I fitted the mirror and it looks great – took me a couple of minutes – very straight forward. The mirror appears to dim ok, but the AHBA obviously does not work.

I don’t have a GAP tool, so I took the car along to my local JLR dealer, they were not interested in helping in any way.

My next port of call was my local 4x4 dealer, which is Mansfield located in Bury St Edmunds. They spent at least a day and half trying to enable AHBA. Really helpful and spent huge amounts of time trying to solve the problem without being paid for their time – I highly recommend them. They tried 3 different software providers but none of them had AHBA listed as an option to enable. However, when entering the software via 12/13 year as opposed to 14/15 AHBA options are listed. Quite rightly Mansfield didn’t want to alter the options via the wrong year.

My question to you all – has anyone retrofitted the AHBA and got it working?

Could I have fitted the wrong mirror hence it’s not visible in the 14/15 year CFF?

Is there anyone living near Sudbury Suffolk that has a GAP tool that could help me?

First thread, I Looked at the tail pipes and they looked awful, began rubbing them with Autoglym super resin polish made no difference,
Cleaned them wit strong blend of car wash shampoo,
Dried with microfibre towels.
covered with G10 compound and machine polished starting at number 1 speed then moving onto number 2 speed.
Buffed to shine wit fresh micro fibre

Very limited space to be able to the inside and top edges , so removed the trim covers for more room, passenger side is all clips, driver side 2 screws and clips.
Metal screws very tight used a small socket set to undo the screws.

Tips polished up really nice look chrome now.

To get a perfect showroom finish will clay bar and polish again and apply poor boys wheel wax which resists heat more than normal wax to keep them looking good for longer.

Overall took about 1 hour inc taking trim off and on
Sorry not the best pics of before as started without taking pics, these are from when i bought the car. Second pic is the finished job.
There is a small amount of pitting on the tips which i will tackle with clay bar.

2017 HSE Dynamic

I just took delivery of my High Camp teardrop trailer (https://www.highcamptrailers.com/) which is ~1,600 lbs (dry) and ~270lbs tongue weight (dry). Surprisingly this low tongue weight still causes the rear end to drop slightly and I expect the drop to increase once the trailer and its roof rack are fully loaded. I checked the 3 major USA air suspension manufacturers (Firestone Ride-Rite, Air Lift and Hellwig Suspension) but none have kits for the Evoque, or any Land Rover for that matter.

Has anyone out there found a solution for this problem? I'm not set on air bag based leveling systems and am open to adjustable struts, springs, etc. My only requirement is that the system allow the ride height to return to normal since majority of miles will be sans trailer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello All,

I am new to Range Rovers please forgive me if this question has been asked many times before. I did search but could not find an answer.

I have a Range Rover Evoque in Dynamic pack 2013 and want to upgrade the rear brake lights to the facelift type, I was looking on the Hella product catalouge and I found 2 model numbers 2SK 012 379-451 and 2SK 012 379-461.

It does state it's for after 06.2015 models but would these fit for 2013 model? Is it plug and play?

Many Thanks,
Since with the drl, the drl lights are always on, will switching the lever once do nothing? Or will it make the drl light brighter?

Guys, I've been running around with crappy lighting on my 2012 SD4 PureTech since 2012 when I purchased the car new.
The lighting is . In fact, my daughters Citroen C3 gives better light displacement even on main beam. I'm sure my Maglight gives off better lighting.

If anyone has had the same sort of experience I am having with the HB3 bulbs and you have resolved your issues can you give me some advice as to what bulbs would be best served in these headlight housing. Nothing wrong with the reflectors They are like new.

Thanks.
