LR dealer rang me on Monday and said they would do a good deal on a new Evoque.

Decided to go and see, they gave me a brilliant deal (trade in price was only a couple of thousand less than I paid!) but I would have to wait a maximum of 9 months for the new vehicle to arrive. Decided to go ahead as my Evoque is 2 years old and I normally change after 3 years anyway, my current Evoque has only done 2500 miles!.

Decided on

Range Rover Evoque P300e Autobiography in Carpathian Grey with Deep Garnet leather interior and the following options:-

Sliding Panoramic roof
Privacy glass
Headlight power wash
Front fog lights
Tyre repair system (doesnt include a sapre tyre or repair kit as standard!)
Secure Tracker Pro (36 months)

Wanted to add the 3d camera and Heads-up display but they are no loger available as options

I did look at the P250 version of the above but decided on the hybrid, just arranging for a charging point to be fitted.

Will post pictures when it arrives.

Hi, I've placed a deposit on a new 2020 First Edition but I'm having second thoughts for these reasons:

My BMW X5 has an opening pan roof which I like the thought of but don't open it that much. Would I be better off choosing a Dynamic HSE and add the opening pan roof as an extra and sacrifice some of the 1st Edition standard extras instead. Are there any issues with the opening roof? The same spec as the 1st is £4K more which is quite a lot for a sliding pan roof.

Which engine is best, diesel or petrol?

"Which" magazine has placed the new Evoque as a "Don't Buy" due to reliability issues. Is this justified and should I heed their advice and buy a BMW X2 or XC40 instead?

I do love the look of the Evoque.

Any advice and all replies will be gratefully received with thanks.

An Audi used the rear of my car as his brakes, forcing me into a BMW. Just glad i had GAP insurance. Just waiting for settlements to come through now..
Hopefully the physio will put me right in time to drive it.
The Volvo was extremely comfortable once in it, looking forward to getting in without banging my head.
Hoping the auto box will ease the fatigue on my travels and when stuck in traffic, especially the A34 from the M40 to the M3. Always accidents and traffic.

My existing Evoque is approaching her third birthday next month so I’ve spent quite some time deliberating on her replacement - Velar and Sport being considered but discounted as I couldn’t get the numbers to add up. So in the end I’ve gone for another Evoque - and this will be my third! I couldn’t see anything out there that appealed as much. So I have opted for another Autobiography but petrol this time, Loire blue, Ivory/Espresso, plus a few extras. Delivery expected in May. While I am excited about the new car the existing one has been faultless over the last three years/54k miles so I will be very sad to see her go.

I ordered a HSE Dynamic tonight!! All in black with black pack, cannot wait!

I had a question though, the dealer led me to believe that the remote control car warm up [i.e. defrost windows from inside your house] feature was a standard option. Is this true on my model? After reading a few posts in the forum I'm not sure

Hello Guys,

I am looking everywhere for a new 4x4 car and I have finally settled on the Evoque. I really like the look of it!

I have no idea which model is worth going for and I would love it if someone could let me know which one is worth the upgrades. I like to have nav, heated seats and I need parking sensors but other than that I am not sure what else is a must! I have been to my local dealership but I felt like they only wanted me to go for the most expensive one! (HSELuxury?) I can't say I wasn't tempted but before I go ahead I wanted to get the opinion of an Evoque driver!

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

I will be doing many more miles from January 2017, estimate 22000 pa, nearly all motorway, so am thinking of trading my 2012 Freelander XS auto for an Evoque HSE Dynamic with the Active driveline but have not found any information on this.

So, in a nutshell, is it worth it? What could my real world mpg be? Currently about 32-36 mpg but if I could realistically get 50 it would be an easy choice!

SWMBO has had her Evoque for some time but after Defenders, Series trucks and lately a Freelander, I am going to be happy to join the community myself if I can justify it.

Thanks for all opinions in advance.

The S2A is staying with me but not day to day, 70 miles per day would finish off my back!

First post. Hi all.

Right, my wife is coming down on the side of an Evoque I think, rather than a Q5. I prefer the Evoque, if only it came with a 3 litre engine and a £6k discount. And without some of the troublesome reports in this forum (and the other one)!

Autobiography, in Yulong white with a graphite pack, privacy glass and a spare wheel.

So - onto the options list. The ones I'm not sure about are:

Adaptive dynamics
Active driveline
Adaptive cruise

She's not speedy. She does >50% of her 12k/year mileage on motorways. It won't go off road, except to park on the school playing field.

Adaptive dynamics? Really? I don't even bother to press the dynamic button on my Jaguar after the first week playing around. She will never select anything other than comfort mode.

Active driveline might reduce fuel consumption, but by what? Even if it were as much as 10%, that might save £15 a month - so it would take over 3 years to pay for itself.

If it were my car, I would go for adaptive cruise (having driven a hire car across Austria with it, without having to touch the pedals for hours). She doesn't seem bothered however.

So - are any of the worth getting? Anything else? HUD is out - she turned it off on the demonstrator as it put her off. TV seems a waste of time.

PS - This is give to cost just north of £50k. What's a reasonable discount to look for from the dealer, on top of the £1500 for taking on finance?

Have gone for it in black with the 18" 506 style wheels and a cirrus/lunar interior. We ordered on Tuesday and expecting delivery at the end of September.

Do you know if these qualify for the land rover driving experience? I forgot to ask the dealer

Hi all,

I'm just in the process of ordering my 3rd Evoque. I've had Fuji white and now on Firenze red. I'd like a change of colour but don't really want black or grey. Has anyone seen the new Baltoro Ice? It is hard to tell on the configurator what the colour is actually like.

Thanks

Selling my current car (Freelander2) to a LR dealer on 1st March (part-exing for a new Evoque ) and am interested in how to tell the DVLA that I've sold the Freelander...

I have the V5 form and there's a section to tear off & send to DVLA... but I've found there's a gov.uk website that allows you to inform the DVLA online that you've sold the car.

I'm interested if any forum member has used the gov.uk facility successfully... or is the consensus to stick with the 'document in the post' method...?

Cheers! Thanks!

I ordered an Evoque and it may ship to the dealership by this Friday (12th) so it might be ready to collect next week (w/c 15th Feb). I'm keen to take it of course but is it worth being patient & taking delivery 1st March to take advantage of the new 16-plate? Is that fair to the dealership, to have them store it for 2 weeks before I deign to have them register it & take my dosh? If I take delivery in Feb on a 56-plate, is that a financial mistake on my part? Thoughts please!

Hi there,
Mr Evo is coming soon, so just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the forum. I have MY16 Si4 Fuji White SE Tech on order.

Looking forward to seeing it when it arrives, as only had a chance to test drive the MY15 - same engine and autobox, so hope its not a big gamble, rather expect the upgrades to sweeten the deal.

Anything I should be prepared for before I pick it up? Happy to hear any voice of wisdom from more experienced Evo owners.

Cheers
