Yes the 2nd battery is just for the stop start system - I think you might have to take it into the dealership or to a non-franchised Land Rover independant/specialist.

Your local LR dealer will be able to tell you of any service history as since 2012 (IIRC) they have been held electronically by JLR. You will need your car’s VIN and they will also be able to tell you...
