Towbar - Tow Trust or Westfalia - Fraggle - 29-09-2015 12:55pm Hi, I apologies for this thread, but I've trawled through this site and others to try and find the information I require, but without success. I have a 2012 SD4 Dynamic, and would like to fit a detachable towbar. Can anyone let me know if you have to cut the outer (visible) part of the bumper on the dynamic to allow fitment of the Tow Trust detachable? I have found pictures of the Westfalia version, which does seem very neat, but I would prefer that no outer cuts were required...... Also, any recommendations on dedicated electrics?....which one to buy..... Thanks RE: Towbar - Tow Trust or Westfalia - Earl grey - 29-09-2015 08:34pm (29-09-2015 12:55pm)Fraggle Wrote: Hi, Hi Fraggle I have a Tow Trust detachable towbar fitted to my 2014 Pure Tech and when removed it is completely invisible. The socket for the hook is underneath and the electrics fold down. There is no cut...you would not know it's there. I know that that the fitter used dedicated electrics but regret I don't know which type. They plug into the existing wiring loom and do clever things like disable the rear parking sensors when a trailer is attached and there is a nice repeater in the instrument binnacle which flashes with the indicators. Highly recommended. I think my mind is made up, the Tow Trust seems to be a favourite I'll keep you up to date with my decision and progress....... Also, has anyone got any recommendations for a tow ball mounted bike rack? I need one which can carry four bikes, I'm thinking Thule, but which one RE: Towbar - Tow Trust or Westfalia - Fraggle - 02-10-2015 12:51pm Tow Trust towbar bought, if it has been delivered, Saturday will be fitment day I'll keep you up to date with a few pics RE: Towbar - Tow Trust or Westfalia - Barton Evoque - 02-10-2015 02:16pm Good choice. The Dynamic lower rear bumper slightly fouls the connection point for the detachable swan neck. I'll get some pics and post to show. Tried to fit without cutting, but could not relocate the four studs bolting the bumper to the car. |
