The glitch affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles sold between 2013 and now.

What's the difference with the 2011-12 versions

So this is the new versions of the FFRR (L405) and RRS (L494). Previously, the RRS was a rebodied Discovery and there are lots of components common to the two new cars, not least software which is at fault. What's not clear is whether this is a software refresh or whether any hardware has to be replaced.

So, does this affect the Evoque? It's a photo of an Evoque in the BBC article.

That's because it says Range Rover on the bonnet. Do you honestly expect a journalist to know the diff?

Hi All,

Just to confirm, this does not affect the Range Rover Evoque and is not related to keyless entry or security systems on the vehicles.

Owners of vehicles that potentially could be affected will be contacted and booked in with a Land Rover approved retailer to allow the software to be updated.

Many thanks,
Pete
