What have you done to yours this weekend? - jasons - 01-03-2015 05:42pm This was always a popular topic on the TT forum I used to belong to, so I thought it would be worth a go here? I'll kick off: 4 new style 6 wheels with brand new Continental tyres- absolute bargain at under £700, new tyres were £225 each so a no brainer. Illuminated tread plates. Got the windows tinted from the B Pillar back. Last week changed the headlights (recent thread), next weekend I'm thinking of installing a rear view camera. J RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - Redrob - 01-03-2015 05:52pm Haven't even had time to wash it this weekend! RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - Koidream - 01-03-2015 05:55pm Waiting... since mine goes in production om 6th March... RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - mighTTy-RRE - 01-03-2015 08:01pm Another TTF refugee. There are quite a few of us on the Evoque forums. I still have my qS and love it, but the Evoque is a great daily runner RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - Barton Evoque - 01-03-2015 08:51pm (01-03-2015 08:01pm)mighTTy-RRE Wrote: Another TTF refugee. RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - PhilSkill - 02-03-2015 05:13pm Mine went to rescue our Volvo C30 that was towed away with what turned out to be a broken alternator... Otherwise it's sat unloved, unused and unwashed as I've been off sick . RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - Kugaman1 - 02-03-2015 08:44pm Hi Jasons, Please provide more info or a how to if you go ahead with the rear view camera! Im considering doing it myself. Did u get a good deal on your illuminated sill plates? I keep looking for them, but not at dealer prices! Resent today via courier so should get Weds. Camera... Hmm thinking of fitting it myself, but toying with paying someone to do it. Kit on its own is about £150' fitted is three times that. In theory it doesn't 'seem' to difficult to fit but those could be famous last words. I did ask about getting the instructions beforehand, but clearly the company has a vested interest in fitting it as they said it takes their master tech over 5 hours to do it?.. I'll let you know what I do, but I will do a write up either way! J RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - Kugaman1 - 06-03-2015 09:40am Cheers matey. Great to see someone whos into subtle mods! I cant believe the camera mod is overly difficult? Theres a guy on ebay that will fully install one for £275 including the parts (aftermarket) so it cant be that hard! RE: What have you done to yours this weekend? - RSK - 06-03-2015 10:21am Been driving an Opel Zafira because the parking brake on my Evoque (MY16, 4.500km) got stuck. Took JLR five days to fix it. Great. Just in case you were considering buying a Zafira, don't. Arguably the ugliest car ever built, and its performance is simply abysmal. Got the RRE back last night, and am looking to more outdoorsy fun this week-end. PS Funny anecdote: JLR on the phone, "That RRE with the stuck brake? It looks kinda dirty?" Me, "Well, we took it for a spin in the woods and beyond. Because it's an offroader. And it's brand spanking new. You know?" JLR, "You've taken it offroad? An Evoque?!?" Might be worth mentioning that I live in the part of Berlin where JLR caters to the rich and famous who, apparently, only use their cars to cruise down Kurfürstendamm. Any road, the RRE performed commendably in rough terrain. I like the car, but not the electronics in charge of the parking brake. |
