A Hybrid RR Evoque - Part II - markh - 13-02-2014 06:09pm Hi everyone, You may remember a post a couple of months ago when I asked about a hybrid Evoque that myself and some other postgrad students were designing, which a number of people expressed an interest in. In short, we have coupled a 1.0 litre engine with an electric motor to power the front axle and added a second electric motor at the rear to provide a 4WD system (a 'through-the-road' hybrid). The total power is up to around 270hp, which is needed because of the extra 250-300kg or so of battery/motor mass. This means that the plug-in hybrid meets euro 6 legislation, manages at least 80mpg and can drive around 30 miles on electric only power, whilst delivering the same performance as a current SD4. We're still simulating things like charge time, but if you guys are interested, I can tell you much more salacious details in a few months when we've finished our project and revealed our design to our competing colleagues! However, I mostly want to say how grateful we are to you for answering the survey we initially posted - we received the best marks in our year for this half of the project (almost 90%) and a big part of that was the superb answers and guidance we got from you guys: the examiners really commended us for that, for which we have you to thank! Also don't forget that we are presenting our designs to some Jag Land Rover engineers/managers in a few months; we'll definitely mention your involvement! Unfortunately, I do have an ulterior motive: the first survey was such as success, we've been asked to repeat it for the second and final part of the project - this time focusing more on 'marketing' aspects. Again, we've kept the survey short and sweet (probably shorter than last time), just asking the few questions that we consider the most important. We would be really grateful if you could again spare a minute or so for the survey - it absolutely does make a really positive difference! Thank-you one last time The survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZJZZWPR Best, Mark A Hybrid RR Evoque - Part II - Stadt Panzer - 13-02-2014 07:15pm Done RE: A Hybrid RR Evoque - Part II - Craig_d1 - 13-02-2014 08:19pm done RE: A Hybrid RR Evoque - Part II - doug - 14-02-2014 07:52am Done.
