2013 or 2014 Model - Steve196 - 07-01-2014 05:36pm

Just picked up our new Evoque this morning and very impressed so far. Went looking at an ex-demonstrator pre-xmas and ended up with a New Orkney Grey SD4 Pure, Manual, with panoramic roof, Black leather, auto lights/wipers, Parking sensors, privacy glass, and fog lights. Didn't get the choice of spec as it was LR stock, but got what we think was a very good deal including 5yr servicing thrown in.

Handover guy mentioned that we were lucky to get a 2014 model from a stock order. Question is, how do we tell if it is 2013 or 2014 model. Quick google mentions new badge designs and something about mirror shape, but I can't see any details of the exact differences so that we can check for ourselves.

Anybody got any clues?
Will get some pictures of her when I can.

Whether it has a six or nine speed gearbox will be a big clue Smile

On a '14 the front centre armrest slides to and fro. On a '13 it's static. Sorry, but I couldn't think of anything else apart from the door mirrors that are smaller on a '14.

smaller, and now there is a very clear gap between the housing and the pillar.

Land rover badge on front grille is green instead of black

Hi,The added black body line that runs along the bottom sides of the windows is absent at the bottom of the rear window as the rear window has been incorporated into the rubber moulding which visually appears that the strip is missing.
I understand that this is the advised 2014 design which visually appears a retrograde design step from the 2013 design.
Regards.

Thanks everyone, now confirmed as 2013 model as suspected originally.

First problem has arisen now though. 35 miles on the clock and parking sensors appear to have given up the ghost. Parking aid warning comes up on start up and when selecting reverse the parking button flashes then goes out without any sensor display.

Hopefully an easy fix and won't be days I. The dealer to be corrected or the start of many problems.

I would take issue with the dealer if they sold an MY13 as an MY14!

To be fair I had never asked and assumed it was a MY2013 given the deal we were getting, it was just the handover guy saying something that made me wonder.

Got more of an issue with the parking sensors failing after less than 2hours!! Will be onto the branch manager today.
