Evoque Diesel recall - BA74 - 15-08-2013 03:09am

Just found this on the web. 2995 Evoques effected. Looks like Diesels.
Happy Land Rover on the front foot with this unlike VW...

Anyone received a letter?
I have the petrol so not for me.

Its also now on http://www.recalls.gov.au I will be waiting for my letter I guess.

RE: Evoque Diesel recall - benzina - 15-08-2013 04:48am

And that gov site suggests that this affects VIN ranges between 639806 - 816769....MY VIN is just over 639000,making it below the starting range, so i guess i won't be getting the letter.

RE: Evoque Diesel recall - MPK - 15-08-2013 08:51am

I'm in the 622xxx so won't be getting a letter.

Surprisingly it looks like there's been a total of three recalls for Evoques in 2013 in Aus - http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952880

Does any one know in case of a recall, would the dealer arrange a temporary car that let you drive during the fix?

RE: Evoque Diesel recall - PhilSkill - 15-08-2013 09:39pm

So we've got it here for searching in the future...

Campaign number: P033

Range Rover Evoque VIN range: 639806 to 816769
Target: 2995

What are the defects?
Land Rover has identified diesel fuel leaking from the engine mounted injector spill rail spigot to spill return pipe connector joint.

What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, the diesel fuel can leak onto the ground and could also run onto the exhaust system and turbo charger where there is an increased risk of an under bonnet fire.

Will be the same as a service. If available or pre booked. Not guaranteed...

Mines in that range - no letter yet.

RE: Evoque Diesel recall - BaringTech - 16-08-2013 01:09pm

Mine falls in that range too, but I'm in the UK.

Just checked on Topix but there's no recall listed for my VIN.

Do Australian vehicles get VINs allocated from a different sequence or pool?
