Squeaky creaky drivers seat - diane@wardelms.co.uk - 18-06-2013 11:21am

Drivers Seat Squeaky creaky,
really annoying. Bought the car brand new three months ago. When I go up or down a speed hump. Or depress the clutch or accelerate, decelerate, or ride over an uneven surface it creaks badly. Had it back to the shop twice. First time they took the whole seat cage apart and oiled it all and tightened it. Two days at the dealers. The squeaking stopped for one day. Then started again. Less than it did but still annoying. One 20 min trip= 10/15 creaks.
So back to the shop. Came back after half a day. According to the service department, washers added?
Same day massive squeaking, worse than at first. 20 min trip=100s of creaks.
What does the warranty say about this?
Can I make the dealer replace the whole seat and cage for me? Because I think that is what is required.
This will be the third time back at the dealers. Only got the car at the end of March.

Speaks to your dealer. It should be fixed under warranty IMHO.
Cheers

Yep, Rattles and squeaks should be investigated under warranty, Had one of my doors sorted under warranty which was rattling and was told LR are taking rattles and noises very seriously by the Service Manager...

Which I took to mean they want to know what's rattling so they can improve their build process. Wink

I'd suggest trying a different dealer. Lookers Park Royal service department are good - ask for Rob.

They should change the entire seat if necessary.

I had similar issue and my dealer replaced the whole seat base. No quibble, no issue. They examined and then ordered and fitted. Been fine ever since.

Just a quick question, this is the right side seat??. Even I am experiencing squeaks in the Right side seat as described, a small bump/ditch or acceleration causes it. (passenger seat). I bought my car in Feb this year
