anyone using 275/45/20s ? - dunhill99 - 03-04-2013 02:56pm hi members,. im new to the forum and this is my 1st post. im planing on upgrading to 20" & the tire offered with the package comes with "275/45/20". my problem is , will it be a perfect fit or will it effect my turning radius (grind with inner panels?) ? what are the benefits & the cons of wide tires? anyone using 275s' please help me. thanks. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - scalle - 03-04-2013 08:55pm i'd think this would look amazing on the RRE! Personnaly i have the 20" with 245 on it and already it looks great, but i'd also like to change to 275. Il buy black wheels before the winter and buy 275 M+S for these wheels. The 245's are summertyres (Contisport). RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - dunhill99 - 04-04-2013 03:36am hi, thanks for the respond,. so u sure tire wont rub against any inner compartment & wont affect the turning radius? RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - benzina - 04-04-2013 06:17am What is the width of those rims? If it's 8 inch like all the stock 20'' versions, then 275 is NOT recommended. Would need to be 8.5 - 9.0 inch. Not sure about turning radius problems, i guess you'd have to fit one on the hoist and test. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - dunhill99 - 04-04-2013 01:56pm rim width is 9.5. hmm.. lets see how it goes. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - dunhill99 - 05-04-2013 02:09pm bump.. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - benzina - 05-04-2013 02:22pm The rolling radius will be slightly bigger, as the tyre aspect ratio (tyre side profile) will increase about 10mm over the stock tyres side profile. So things to consider...1/ your speedo will be slightly out (showing slower then your actual speed), 2/ turning radius, 3/ check and see if there will be safe clearance between the top front tyre and the spring strut hanging over it,as you will be increasing that 10mm's, & 4/ check the offset of the wheel. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - Inges - 05-04-2013 07:54pm I'm waiting for 275/40/20 now, hopefully I will have them here next week with Kahn RS600 rims, and Kahn Designs said it wouldn't be any problems with 275/40/20. and read here for: 275/45/20 http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Evoque-tyre-sizes-please-help RS600 Rims specs: Offset: 49 Stud Diameter: 108 Rim Width: 8.5J Rim Diameter: 20 /Inge RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - Bowl - 05-04-2013 08:19pm Not sure about the rubbing due to increased width, but.... Based on the standard 245/45/20; The 275/45/20 size will increase the circumference by 3.71% which affects your speedometer by that much, while 275/40/20 will give you a much more accurate speed readings with -0.07% error. RE: anyone using 275/45/20s ? - scalle - 05-04-2013 09:55pm hello, i love those rims, please send pics as soon as they are on the car!!! these are the ones i'm planning to buy (05-04-2013 07:54pm)Inges Wrote: I'm waiting for 275/40/20 now, hopefully I will have them here next week with Kahn RS600 rims, and Kahn Designs said it wouldn't be any problems with 275/40/20. |
