SatNav software upgrades - Bodlyfunctions - 12-03-2013 11:43am Not sure if this has been discussed, but if so, could someone kindly point me in the right direction (no pun intended!). I have just been informed by my dealer that if i want the SatNav software upgrade on my MY12, I have to log on to the Land Rover website, pay for it and download it on to a USB stick and 'Do It Myself'. I am confused as to how this software upgrade is not covered by warranty, but other upgrades are? Has anyone done this? At £199 it seems rather a lot. What do I get for my money? 12 months? Or it's the one upgrade? RE: SatNav software upgrades - cjfp - 12-03-2013 11:51am There is at least one thread on here where we are all moaning about the cost - to date, iirc, I dont think anyone has actually paid up ! http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-2012MY-Satnav-Reversing-Cam RE: SatNav software upgrades - Donny Dog - 12-03-2013 02:24pm (12-03-2013 11:51am)cjfp Wrote: There is at least one thread on here where we are all moaning about the cost - to date, iirc, I dont think anyone has actually paid up ! I just had my car serviced (March 2012 delivery) and they said that there were NO sat. nav. updates available, as I had the latest version. Having now read the thread linked here, I agree with Tim it is ridiculous that you can't just buy a UK update. (A UK update for my Mercedes is 'only' £100). RE: SatNav software upgrades - PhilSkill - 12-03-2013 04:30pm There are 2 forms of NAV upgrade... The System, e.g. 2013 have programmable POI and offroad trail tracking. (Not available for older cars it seems, ) The Maps, these are upgradable at cost from LR website. RE: SatNav software upgrades - stephenc - 12-03-2013 10:04pm The maps on my 13 plate car are at least 2 years out of date on a local major A road, so I wouldn't rush into an expensive upgrade - I have asked the deler to check my version as I'm rather disappointed. I made a similar point to the dealer about my 2012 version. They said that it's all sub-contract and they just fit what they're provided with, even though it's already out of date at first installation. RE: SatNav software upgrades - stiggz - 13-03-2013 12:14pm What format does the update come in from the LR website? CD/DVD? AUDI is DVD which you can 'acquire' to update... IIRC, USB stick and you then plug it in and you then need to obtain an access code to finalise the update. |
