Double locking - ktjoinery - 05-03-2013 09:42pm Went out for the day on Sunday and had the dog with us, as we were going for lunch we had to leave him in the car so I thought I had better see if you can lock the car without the alarm being active inside. Turns out that by pressing the lock on the fob only once it locks the doors but enables them to be opened from inside and doesn't activate the alarm, also means that for 3 months someone could have smashed the side window and opened the door without setting the alarm off!! You have to press it TWICE and get an audible beep for it to be double locked and alarm on. Might read the rest of the owners manual now Lucky RE: Double locking - RacingSnake - 05-03-2013 09:45pm lol I found this out fairly late on, but yes, important point. It 'used' to be the other way round, but LR bowed to consumer pressure and swapped it to how it is now. No-one (from LR) has indicated whether it's reversible or not. I suspect not. RE: Double locking - Tulabb - 05-03-2013 10:34pm Yup I thought that when I popped into the shops quickly and the dogs in the car. RE: Double locking - Bodlyfunctions - 05-03-2013 11:30pm I think there is an option you can change this. I believe it is in the menus on the dash panel. Will look in the morning but seem to recall seeing something about changing the lock procedure. RE: Double locking - THEMACS - 05-03-2013 11:34pm If you had a decent dealer and a proper hand over like we did you would have known from day 1 RE: Double locking - PhilSkill - 06-03-2013 12:12am Theres an option in the steering wheel settings for single stage locking if i remember correctly RE: Double locking - WB - 06-03-2013 11:30am (05-03-2013 11:34pm)THEMACS Wrote: If you had a decent dealer and a proper hand over like we did you would have known from day 1 So true... shame that decent dealers are rarer than rocking horse **** RE: Double locking - Shenley - 06-03-2013 11:52am I think you will find the only 'user' option is the unlocking sequence. You can change it from one press - drivers door only, two presses to unlock the whole car. To the other option where one press unlocks the lot. Locking is still two presses to arm the lot.
