Auto wipers being a bit crap - RacingSnake - 29-01-2013 07:55pm

I've not noticed this since I got the car last April...
But coming home on sunday night in the rain, I kept finding myself overriding the auto and turning to manual.
I whinged about it for a bit and carried on home.

Today when coming home, exactly the same ineffective wiping... I counted 14 seconds between 2 of the wipes and the windscreen was barely see-able through Sad, once again, alternating between "always on" and the single wipe down.

Anyone else have this? Or do I add it to the list for the dealer next thursday?

What position do you have the Intermittent wipe sensitivity (rotary collar on right hand stalk) set at?

You are kidding me? LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing
I blame the wife, as she first mentioned it. Embarrassed

I got my car 2 days ago and it's rained every day. Have found the auto wipers totally useless Sad I was looking forward to having it as I used to use it all the time on my BMW's where it was spot on

Evoque wipers either don't wipe at all or just keep wiping even with nothing left on the screen

maybe you need to look at the sensitivity collar too Wink

I love my auto wipers that work wonderfully.

(Iirc, Don't forget there are two set-ups and it depends how your dealer set it - first is sensitivity and is set by the collar - the second is correlated to the speed of travel)

Laughing I find it works on "Max" only for me, otherwise you always want it to wipe before it does...

I Just wish we could slow down the rear intermittent wipe....

Can't complain about the wipers here as well. No big difference from my old car compared to the Evoque.

Similar to my BMW, just set it on max and let it do the job. Works for me nicely. As in the BMW if window is dirty over sensor can get some false positives.
