Alignment problems - ktjoinery - 17-12-2012 07:29pm

I've had my Evoque dynamic for a couple of weeks now and on the whole I'm pretty pleased.
BUT while admiring it's lines after washing it I noticed that the passenger side door seems to be badly out of alignment with the front wing towards the bottom.
Also the boot has different gaps the left hand side being about 3 times the size to that on the right! I have e-mailed the photos to the dealer and await their response.
Just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues?

Looks pretty bad. Hope it's the front bit that's just badly fitted... If they have to start adjusting the door then all kinds if horrors re leaks, wind noise et al comes to mind.

Hope your right, I've got a new Transit van with better shut lines!

LHF door alignment issues seem fairly common - mine has been adjusted too, it had dropped about 5mm

This would just not happen with an Audi or BMW. How could things like this get missed by QC if they were doing their job properly. Poor!!!!

Looks like the door is too far in to me, as it should line up with the sill line like the front plastic bit is.

Re tailgate, yes had mine adjusted under warranty it's fine now.

Quite agree about the BMW statement, last 4 cars have been beemers with no probs.
Been out today and have now picked up an irritating rattle/creak from the passenger seat area.

Got to say that the shine is coming off the new car experience!

Car has been in at the dealers for a couple of days and has been returned with even gaps on the boot and door aligned with the front wing.

Happy that it could be resolved without drama, but if its that easy to fix why can't it come out of the factory ok?

If anybody else has issues like this then make the dealers aware. We are paying premium money for our vehicles.

It's only through feedback that problems can be eradicated for future builds.

Rear tail gate completed twice now, once by dealer and once by JLR guys from the factory who had to visit my dealers with a special jig. Never had this problem with 12+ years of BMW's
