Ebony or Ivory headlining? - caroline11000 - 04-08-2011 02:50pm I can't decide if ebony or ivory headling would look better? On my Pure I am having white exterior, ebony leather etc but haven't changed the headlining from ivory to ebony. With the panoramic roof ivory would contrast but I wonder if it would look dirty/off white when looking through the screen at the white exterior bodywork? And would ebony headlining be all to much of the same and dark? Any of you that have ordered the black/white colour combination what colour headlining have you gone for? Any opinions appreciated! RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - ant - 04-08-2011 03:00pm I've gone for the Ambience interior, (ivory ish), with the pan roof but I've left the roof lining ivory. I like a light interior!!! ANT RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - mark_n - 04-08-2011 03:06pm The big question is why they need to charge so much extra for it - £250 will put a lot of people off so any majority of white headlinings will be as much an issue of money as aesthetics. For me, the decision was more to do with the colour of the dashboard because the headlining also determines the interior lining of the A pillars. I think the A pillars and the dashboard should be the same or similar colour, not contrasting but of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think the rear, especially of the coupe, will be quite dark if you have privacy glass and no panoramic glass so that might be a case for the standard headlining. If I was having a white car, I would definitely have a black headlining, especially since the car body is whiter than the headlining will be. My assumption is, by the way, that if you have the panoramic glass roof, the internal blind is the same or similar colour as the headlining. RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - caroline11000 - 04-08-2011 03:39pm Good question mark_n about the colour of the blind, does anyone know if it matches the roof lining? It had better bl***y match now I've spent the extra on it!!!! RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - Urban Splash - 04-08-2011 06:32pm I'm getting Pure Tech in white, cirrus with pano roof and few extras. Gone for the ebony headliner. Just think it looks more upmarket. Pano room and cirrus interior will be light enough.... Don't know why they charge extra though RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - Blackseries - 04-08-2011 08:02pm I observations are purely based on my thought process when choosing between Element and Ambience interiors but could equally be applied to Cirrus in the Pure. First off all Press cars that I saw with Element (Cirrus) interiors had Ebony headlining – now my conclusion was that because Element (Cirrus) is very light Grey / almost brilliant White that combination with Ivory might look a bit odd i.e. almost matching but not quite (two shades of white) so that’s why I think the press cars had Ebony. Had I gone for Element I would have chosen Ebony roof lining. In the end I stayed with Ambience which is Ivory so the Ivory roof lining sort of makes sense and it keeps the interior light which was my main reason for choosing Ambience in the first place. BTW the Pan roof blind will match the headlining..... well it has done in every video I’ve seen. Pity about the air bag regulatory stickers too... RE: Ebony or Ivory headlining? - vinny - 04-08-2011 11:38pm I think its a personal choice but my thinking is if you are having the darker seats and dash the lighter roof lining and door pillars at eye level will make the interior a little airier. If you are having the lighter seats and dash the darker headlining would not be so claustrophobic. Only problem with the light headlining is the wifes stilletos might mark the roof! |
