Car Has Arrived! - Samson - 14-11-2012 11:00pm

Met with my dealer yesterday to complete some paperwork... car was at the dealers and saw it 'unprepared'. Has arrived a lot quicker than I was expecting.

Was expecting to pick up at end of the month with potential delay to first week of December. Now picking up next week after mud flaps are fitted. Have asked for car to remain unwashed - taking straight to have it detailed and prepared by a GTechniq specialist. So will not actually be able to drive away with it until Friday next week.

Will post photos after after it has been detailed. For now some initial 'unprepared' shots below.

Thats great news Samson! Pics look good. Mine arrived at Lookers this afternoon. Hoping for delivery on Saturday. I think we both had the same expected build date of 9th November but were in fact built on the 1st. I'm planning on getting the Gtechniq treatment done as well, but probably in the coming weeks. Would be great to see some photos once its ready.

Samson.

Be very assertive with your dealer re preparation/don't prepare the car before delivery.

I did the same with mine only to find out when the car reached my detailer that the paintwork was an absolute mess, under the detailers light gun, it looked like the car had been cleaned with a brillo pad.

Detailer spent an extra day working on it because it had to be fully machine polished instead of the intended hand polish.

Good luck with the collection.

Thanks Evo-king. Will do. Have told Lookers that all they should do is take off the protective plastic covers and undertake the usual checks. They tried to convince me to have it delivered cleaned and polished - they were also concerned about the feedback they would receive in the post collection survey that LR send out if the car was not delivered in a clean state.

Looks nice combo. Can't wait to see the full pictures. Good look with the handover.

Samson.

LPR are forum sponsors on here so they look at these posts, just explain you are spending lots of your hard earned and that you want it done how you want it.

It is not personal or a slight on their ability as a dealer, in fact you are more like to praise them because they have co-operated with you regarding your delivery requirements. If you get one of those follow up calls no doubt you will say you were very happy with the car at collection.

I'm with you on them doing as little as possible to the car but be careful that it will be very difficult to see marks/damage/paintwork issues if the car is dirty.

So make sure you note on the delivery docs that you were not able to inspect the paint and that any issues you find will be reported later.

I'm sure Alfie will check over the car in detail when you take it round so go through it with him and make sure you photograph and issues and let LPR know straight away.

Absolutely Evo-king. Before I placed my order with LPR, went to a number of dealers not so much for offers as none available but  to gauge service, attitude, etc. and LPR came out tops. Their service and helpfulness has been superb since I placed the order and cannot fault them.

That's a good point WB. Thanks.

I know dealers differ but do make sure you get your full tank of fuel as its the least they can do for you on such a big purchase with no discount!
